Soooo...Which mod is best. After reading, reading, reading, etc I find that it depends on who you are and what model you use. I will say that by nature I'm a tinkerer so I'm going to be a busy guy when I finally do get my 510 - The girls at Cignot got it processed and even sent me a tracking # on Sunday evening.... :D .....I cannot wait!!!!!

Anyway, getting back to the mod discussion - Even though I have not vaped I am already thinking of thigs to get the most out of my 510. As I was reading through some of the mod discussions I ran across the straw method. I immediately thought of the little steel injection needle I used to inject my turkey on thanksgiving. Of course, It's have to be cut down some, but there is already a slanted cut on one side of the needle and it looks like it'd be ideal for this purpose. Has anyone else tried using these instead of a plastic straw?

I've only got 9 posts so I can't post a pic, but if you google turkey injector needle, you'll get the idea of what I'm talking about.

I used the injection "needle" that you use to fill basketballs. It worked fine "back in the day" when I was still using polyfill.

I have since become a "spring and plug" fan... and haven't looked back. I got my cartridges to work just the way I want them about 2 weeks ago.. and haven't changed my mod recipe since.

I read about that mod too - the ADP mod, right? ...like I said I'm a tinkerer so I'm going to give that a try as well. :)

Well... the ADP mod is what got me started... then, in cahoots with Kristin... we started dorking with other things. She is still dorking.... I found my "temporary Nirvana" and stopped.

I use a vertical spring with the Scotch Brite blue pad, cut with a hole punch.. in a 901 whistle tip cart on a 510. You can find the details in the later chapters of the "Straw Plug Mod" thread.

i use the ADP but am still tinkering with it as it seems to slide down the cart and wont keep the atty wet enough... if there was a way to keep the spring right up at the top then that mod would prolly be the end all be all... but a new filler mat might be best. I tried cigarette filters (unused of course :D ) but am still looking for that perfect wick.. untill i find it, I drip.
