Just wanted to start a thread for the female gender.

I, nerak, am a woman. My name is Karen.

I know that I might cuss and drink a little. I might not always act in true "lady-like" fashion. Ask anyone that has talked with me on the phone!

But I am a 60 year old Grandma and I love my REO's!

Please don't worry about offending or shocking me with dirty language or naughty innuendo. Believe me I could keep up with the best!

Now, if any other women would like to add their post feel welcome!

This is all done because some of our screen names leave our gender to the imagination of others and some might like knowing!

Hi Karen! **everyone waves to Karen**

Hi folks - my user name isn't really creative, it was assigned to me by AOL way back when I got my very first computer in the early 90's when usernames could only be 8 characters. Being the unimaginative type, I just never changed it. It's my first initial (R for Robin) and my last name truncated (Abernethy). Not too concerned about sharing that, because my website also lists my full name.

I am also a woman, in my late 40's. I work as a senior buyer for a large corporation, and my hobby is breeding ball pythons, different color and pattern mutations. Element77 has met me in person and been to one of our local reptile shows and can attest to the staggering variety. Those of who work with them sometimes refer to them as living art.

I am owned by a dog, a cat and a bird, all who expect me to be their hand maiden, which I willingly oblige.

I have no children, but have been in a long time relationship with my BF (I guess technically we'd be considered domestic spouses since we've been together for 17 years now). He has two adult sons, one who was raised in Finland and spent a few weeks with us this past summer, the first time they've seen each other since he was seven (he's now 20).

I am also adopted, adopted when I was 4 weeks old, and I've been in reunion with my birth uncle and his family for 13 years now. He's my birth mother's brother, and she has no idea. She declined getting to meet me, and they live in different states. It's messy and complicated why she doesn't know I'm in reunion with him, but has nothing to do with her relationship with him, but more about the relationship with her husband and daughters. She apparently almost had a nervous break down when the PI contacted her to tell her I was looking for her.

I've always felt it was the responsibility of the person searching to respect the wishes of the one being searched for. The one searching has usually had years of emotional preparation while the person being found has not. Her rejection isn't of ME as a person, but rather what I represented in her life way back in time.

I'm a Taurus, so I'm extremely loyal to a fault. Karl will tell you that I'm the most hard headed woman he's ever met in his life.

I guess that's it for now! :)

Thanks Karen, for starting this!

Thank you for your post Robin! I really enjoyed that!

I always felt that I was adopted. My dad wanted a boy and I was always trying to become just like one for him. Very non-emotional showing family life.

I had to find my true self much later in life. Even after 25 years of marriage I was still trying to be happy with who I had become.

Now I know who the hell I am and I am proud of it! I don't need anyone to make me feel whole.

I love my two daughters and my son. I can't believe that he will be 40 this year! Damn that makes me feel old!

My 9 grand kids are growing way to fast. Oldest is now 17 and youngest is 1.

Love living by myself and doing what I want to do when I want to do it!

Hi! My real name is Leslie.....yep I'm a girl!

Like Karen I'm a 60 year old grandma to 1. I have a wonderful son, 43 and a granddaughter 17 & my daughter in law is a charm.

I am married to the love of my life for 15+ years. He's the best. He'll even do laundry, vaccumn, and he loves the grocery store (which I hate) treats me like gold. I was very lucky to find him after being married to an a$$hole for 20 years. I let myself be dictated to and crapped on until I found my courage and self esteem. I never looked back. I guess you could call me a slow learner :p.

I work full time for a construction company who has managed to stay afloat through the downturn. I am so glad to have had a job in these tough times. Business is picking up and we are still working short staffed. I am looking forward to retirement in a few years.

I love to garden and we grow some of our own veggies. It's quite a challenge in the desert. I am also a quilter and enjoy it. DH laughs at me for cutting up perfectly good fabric into small pieces and sewing it back together. LOL! I also like to make jewelry. I bead, wire wrap and have a kiln for glass & PMC. I don't go into anything half way, I have enough fabric and jewelry supplies to choke a horse. It's just the two of us here so when we got this house about 10 years ago it had a family room & small eat in kitchen that we use most of the time. It also had a connected living room & dining room that are now my studio. Love that I can make a mess & not have to worry about picking up all my junk if I don't feel like it.

I got into vaping almost a year ago (February 4th) and am totally hooked. Went from egos to ProVari to DIY and now REO's and I'm done looking. Now all I need is a little cotton, a little wire and I'm set. So glad I found this great community, you all are the best.

Yes, but the forum software won't stand for it. ;)

What, my horse doesn't look "girly" enough?

She's a filly for sure. Er um, actually a mare these days.

Hi reonaut ladies!
I'm a 30 year old clinical scientist, and have two goofy dogs. I'm really not super exciting. I play video games, and harass my crazy dogs. I have A LOT of tattoos, over 60 hours worth, but I hide them well.
I've been a homeowner since i was 24, and I hate it. lol
I drive a hybrid, and doing my part to save the environment.
I'm a border line raw vegan.
And I own well over 1000 books.

Oh, and tomorrow is my 6 month smoke free, vapersary! And I only use original reo minis :)

I am so glad to have some replies on this thread.

I know there are quite a few female Reonauts that are often mistaken for males. It might not really matter, but I am always curious.

Most times I will read a few posts from someone and decide that it must be a guy. Once in a while I am shocked to find out it is a lady!

Nice to see some other Grandma's in here!!!

Nice to meet you Jenn! Yeah the cancer does suck. But now you are not putting all that smoke into your body. Here is to a more healthy YOU!
