I have a tesla 200w box mod with a mutation x v4. Just changed the coils from single 24g kanthal which would fire from 7w-200w. My new coils are Clapton coils I have them perfectly or as close to perfect as they will get in the rda all tightened down not touching the deck anywhere. My question is they will only fire between 7w-60w anything higher then 60 my box mod reads "!atomizer short!" I don't understand why it won't fire at higher wattage which I really need it to because it's a thicker coil which I feel like I should be firing at 70w-100w for best results. What would cause this please someone help, they are reading .10 ohms btw don't know if that helps

Your power device is functioning as it should.

It fires kanthal .15Ω ~ 3.5Ω resistance range 7w - 200w.
PWM 150w and above.
Kanthal .1Ω ~ .14Ω resistance range at 60w or less / no more than 60w.
Ni200 from .18Ω - 1Ω

Output Amp limit 36.5a.
Be sure to use good quality name brand batteries with a sufficient CDR to support amp demands.

Always read the specs of the power device before you buy to avoid confusion / disappointment.

Thank you so much I was looking around for something like those specs when it wouldn't fire at 75 I messed with it alll day making sure it wasn't touching post anywhere, any idea why it won't fire at a higher wattage? Is it cause it'd be getting to many ohms?

This definitely helps.

Basically, your device is limiting you. It's not hitting it's amp limitation at that resistance and wattage, which is weird since it cuts you off ~25 amps, but it is what it is.

if you wish to use more than 60w then you'll need a higher resistance atomizer. Anything at or above .15 ohms will give you your 7w-200w back.
