On the other forum I use I came across a thread sharing this blog from House Of Hybrids, the maker of the beautiful and very popular ZNA devices.

I don't want to start a clone vs authentic debate, so please take that .... elsewhere. I just want to share what I found to be an interesting, refreshing, and very noble perspective on the whole China clone debate from House of Hybrids.

" We live in a global economy. We have to embrace change. For those of you that feel they have stolen my design, it is true... they have... but the important thing about being in this industry is that devices like this save lives by helping people free themselves of their dependency on cigarettes and combustible tobacco. If you are concerned about the effect this will have on my business and the livelihoods of my employees, please encourage the purchasers of the Chi-NA to accessorize with genuine ZenKote parts. I do ask that you NOT alienate people that make the choice to own a Chi-NA."

I have never aspired to the concept that two wrongs make a right, while any device from anywhere will or may ultimately save lives the theft of a design is forever wrong and I have issues knowingly supporting that and suggesting it is OK to do so.

Kudos to ZEN for taking the high road, they obviously have their slice of the pie and are in a comfortable enough position to cast aside the whole debate on cloning.

Clones are hurting the business when they are sold by shops as authentic items. If buyer is notified that he is buying a clone, it is fine - it is user's choice.

Ya that can be a problem if someone doesn't do any research. My shops will label them as clones, which is good. Even though they had a cloupor DNA 30 just labeled as "Evolv DNA 30." :\
