This tastes bad!

I just got my kit 2 weeks ago and purchased some liquid from a local mall kiosk. I fell in love with the flavor (menthol of course) and have already gone through the bottle. I ordered some more menthol liquid online from a different vendor and just got it today... All excited I filled up my cartomizer and began to vape... And to my demise I don't like it one bit...

I got this liquid from Johnson creek and I've heard this is a good brand...

So am I doomed to kiosk liquid?! It's probably not even as safe as it doesn't even have the ingredients on the bottle...

This so isn't what I thought it would be...

I have not tried Johnson Creek but I only hear praises of it. The problem may be that it is a fresh hand made juice, it may need time to steep for the flavors to completely blend. But there are lots of other vendors to try as well, join the rest of us in the pursuit of the all-day vape and try them all. lol

The edge of my desk is lined with little bottles of juice I don't like. Just keep trying different ones. Rockstarvape is having a huge sale right now and I know they have a 'tobacco menthol' that is supposed to be more like a menthol analog. YMMV

hmmmm,

Johnson Creek is a good e-liquid, but I guess it isn't your cup of tea.

I would suggest sampling e-juices via dripping first starting with the kiosk you got your kit from.

Or If you have a company Like Volcano Cafe near you, you can sit at the bar and sample all thier e-juices all day long for free.

I can almost guarantee that the liquid in the mall kit was chinese liquid, the brand is dekang so if you want to find it go to a vendor that sells that brand. I would come back to the johnsons creek after some time goes by, if you are a new vaper than your tastebuds will start to recover and you will be shocked by how different things taste after a couple months. Just curious how much is the mall charging for say 10ml? It shouldnt be more than 5 or 6 bucks,

Backwoods Brew is a forum supplier and carries menthol in L/M/H strength.
I wasn't a menthol smoker, but it is good stuff!

Yes hopefully my taste buds will learn to like other flavors and other brands. I am still new to this and don't know what to expect in the way of liquids.

Oh the mall kiosk liquid is about $7 for the 10ml.

However, personal reviews? You can't go wrong with Backwoods Brew, Alien Visions, Halo, or FSUSA. Of those four vendors I have never experienced a bad flavor. Yes, a few I didn't enjoy as much as others but all of them were quality e-liquid products in my opinion.

Steeping wont help JC juice. I have been buying 100 ml a month for my wife for about a year straight now. There juice is what it is and it wont change over time. Did you get the Wisconsin frost or arctic menthol?

Was the Mall Kiosk menthol a mint candy or true cooling effect menthol.

I'm with atavanhalen and would bet the liquid they have there is Dekang. Dekang makes most of the liquid being sold out there and yes it is from China but that doesn't mean it's bad. A lot of people really love their Tobacco & Menthol flavors. RY4, 555, DK-Tab, RY1, Flue Cured, Menthol, etc are all quite popular and it's some of the cheapest juice you'll find anywhere. One place to get it is RockyMountainVapor.

Okay the JC juice I got was arctic menthol... and the one I got at the mall kiosk had a more basic cooling effect... and a little sweet as well. This is just totally different... it does have the cooling effect, but doesn't taste like menthol or even mint. :/ Maybe it's just what they use in their ingredients and I'm not used to it?

I love Johnson Creek and the flavors of the red oak line. Their customer service is awsome. I always let my juice steep and its really awsome if you let it set a couple of weeks.

I wouldn't risk anything from China personally, the reports of having diacetyl in some of their juices was enough to scare me into only buying from reputable American and Canadian dealers who state they specifically do not include diacetyl.

With JC it's kind of a love or hate it thing. Their juice is (very!) unique.

Try Nicotine Nirvana - they ship pretty quick and they have DeKang and American menthol juice and no steeping needed. That's where I started and still vape the American Tobacco - however with more premium juices I'm finding they need to steep. Like this wonderful Home Counties from Liberty Flights - when I first got it - meh - now however I'm practically in tears (j/k) that my little 5ml is nearing it's end. Awesome stuff!!!

I would recommend Hypermint from Bluemist Vaping. I have tried around 30 flavors now including some from Backwoods Brew and still find that Hypermint is in my top 3 flavors and probably the one I use the most. It doesn't taste like an analog menthol, but its very good. Its pretty basic, mint and menthol in a nice combination.

If you want to try non-menthol flavors, I would highly recommend Casablanca from Backwoods Brew. Its my favorite flavor so far. Some of the most popular flavors at Backwoods Brew aren't in stock very often, but Casablanca seems to be in stock most of the time.

I agree with that. RockyMountainVapor has good menthol. I also love nhalers menthol. His high voltage is USA made but I 'think' his nhale/xhale is from China. Don't know this for a fact though. But I do love his menthol, vape it all day.
