Recently ordered some of this silica from Stormy's and was curious what others thought of it.

I usually use 3 mm cotton in most of my atty rebuilds.....But the ekowool being hollow I thought this might wick just a bit better then plain silica.....the cotton can't be dry burned....

I do have SS #400 and #500 mesh but I'm not much of a tinkerer. Juggling a PT job, fixing up my house (Im a perfectionist), and making eliquid I don't wanna spend hours rebuilding attys.

I use ecowhool a lot. On the ithaca it doesnt seem to saturate as fast as silica. On the kayfun it eorks great. I think it doesnt wick very well in vertical applications. Seems to me it has a mjch better use in bottom coil atties that dont fight gravity

well that's true to a greater or lesser degree with any wicking material. I just bought some yarn from walmart last week and I need to boil some and experiment with it. does the ecowool break as easy as silica, though? Because i think I might still use silica in my RBAs but cotton on my vivi nova (and eventually protank) heads.

It is hollow, but if you try to insert something, like an SS wick, you'll notice that the hollow part is actually filled with strands of ekowool. If you think you'll get better wicking with a hollow wick, you might want to pull these out.

Were you using the 1.5mm? I thought that was the only non-hollow braid.
