It depends on what you want. What do you like and dislike about your 901? Are you happy with the vapor? Throat-hit? Battery life? Size? Form-Factor? Which of those are more important to you? I own a Dura and 901 and enjoy both of them. I think the battery life sucks on both of them as well. Which is why I use a Screwdriver for my 901 and why I've ordered the Janty Stick and Prodigy.

hey thanks for the reply! overall im very pleased with the 901's performance i like the size and looks...throat hit and vapor production are nice especially with 50/50 cut...but when it boils down to it yes i would prefer something with a bit more battery life and vapor output

the battery life for the 501 isn't as good, but the vapor is much better

Understandable. I had the very same experience. There are a lot of options in terms of obtaining better battery life.

If you are handy with a soldering iron you can create a very nice mod for under $20. The nicostick is my favorite and uses a 901 as the atomizer of choice. There are other mods out there though so feel free to peruse the moders section of the board.

If you are not that handy but aren't too concerned about looks consider purchasing a USB passthrough for your 901 and a small USB powerpack to plug it into. A passthrough can be purchased from tons of retailers on this site for usually around $20 and there are several powerpacks available at electronics stores. I bought mine at Frys for $12.

If modding or the passthrough is not for you then you will need to spend more money. Currently available the best option is the Screwdriver. It can be purchased here --> ecigscrewdriver.com
It uses a 900MAH battery versus the 180MAH or so battery that is currently on your 901 which translates to it lasting much longer. My stock 901 batteries lasted me about an hour. The screwdriver lasts about four hours for me. The vapor production is excellent and consistent. This has to do with providing 3.7 volts consistently for a majority of the battery life.

Another option that is about half the price is the Janty Stick. It will be available in about a week and can be purchased here ---> Janty USA
It uses a penstyle atomizer (DSE801) which has a larger cartridge capacity to hold more juice. They will also be producing adapters to use the DSE901 and JoyE510/Titan/Yeti/Dura atomizers in the future. The stick comes with a 360MAH Battery (the same used in e-cigars) and has a built in USB passthrough which enables you to vape and charge your battery at the same time. I get about three hours on a battery.

If you are willing to wait a little longer (2-4 weeks) there is a new product available called the prodigy which can be pre-ordered here PureSmoker.com - Your #1 Source For PV's, Parts, & Accessories!
It is very versatile allowing you to purchase adapters to use the 901 or 801 and eventually the JoyE510/Titan/Yeti/Dura atomizers. The prodigy also allows you to use a wide range of batteries giving you anything between 750MAH at 6volts to 2200MAH at 3.7 volts.

Each option has it's good points and bad and range in price from $20 to $200. The mods are very cheap and effective but cosmetically may not meet your needs, the Screwdriver may be too expensive and not offer enough versatility, the Janty Stick may not a high enough MAH battery and the prodigy while offering plenty of versatility may be too expensive.

Ultimately my advice would be to visit all of the sites above and look at your options and then scour the forums for information on all of these models. Read/Watch reviews. Just remember that there is no Mini (DSE901, JoyE510/Titan/Yeti/Dura, etc...) that will deliver good battery life. The only way to obtain that is a bigger battery which moves you out of the "It kinda looks like a cigarette" group of devices. I hope that helps and good luck!
