man, i just went thru 3 boge sr cartos. i punched them, filled em up with dragons tears 40/60 and slided into my new pro-v tank. filled the tank up, and started to vape. lo and behold gurgeling and flooding happens. and i cant get it to stop. so i fill another carto and try all over again. same thing. i went thru 3 cartos and who knows how much juice wasted. i finally just filled a smoktech prepunched (tiny hole) 3.o cart. now it hits fine. so im thinking i punched to big a hole??? idk anyone else experience this or know of a solution. i hate throwing stuff away

I don't use a tank. If my carto is flooded I take it off the batt; blow it out from the battery end into a paper towel; screw it back on the batt & vape away. No fuss. No muss. No leaking.

i want to try another brand too.. but which one?, i have xl tanks so i need cartos long enought

I dunno. Never considered anything other than Boge until now. Before I switch, though, I'll have to be certain my difficulty wasn't because of "user error". Purchased a carto punch and went crazy punching every carto I had (about 10 left).

2 holes...big I guess, but no bigger than those of pre-punched cartos I've purchased. I don't think size is a factor as much as how deep you punch. I'm vaping now on a 2 hole punched carto that I apparently punched correctly (no leaks, no gurgle). So until they come out with a punch with some sort of "guide" or auto stop mechanism, I'm gonna have to master the art of not punching too deep...if that, in fact, is the problem.

Once I'm certain I've mastered that, then I'll see if problems still occur.

I've never used that punch but what I do is turn the screw until it touches the carto and then make 1-1/2 revolutions. Then I do the same thing on the other side of the carto so I end up with 2 holes. The holes are on the smaller side as far as size goes but they don't leak and it feeds the juice nicely.

You know, I purchased that punch 'cause I thought it would be easier. It does make a pretty nifty hole. But the saddle valve thingy I used previously produced an audible POP once the hole was created. One complete turn after the pop produced the perfect hole. The hassle with the saddle punch was getting it to line up correctly. It tended to want to slide off to the side of the carto. No problems other than that.

Here is the size of hole that gave me trouble. Next to a prepubched smoktechView attachment 127078

That's a pretty big hole but a 40/60 juice shouldn't leak and gurgle even with a hole that size.

Carto tanks are a real pain for the first few months until you figure everything out, I almost gave up on them a few times but am glad I stuck with them in the end, now that I know what I'm doing they're basically all I use.

Give it time and patience, and trial and error :)

Yes. Trial and error for now. Let the screw touch the carto and then count how many times you turn to make a small hole. Also check to be sure that you've gone all the way through the outside wall of the carto. Use a needle to be sure the fuller is exposed and that the juice will feed into it. For a small hole I suggest a second hole on the other side of the carto. If you decide to go with one hole and you have trouble getting it to feed, a neat trick is to give the e-cig a few good hard draws without pressing the firing button. That will draw juice into the carto.
