OK Gang, I am not only new to vaping, but forums also.

I got the 510 this weekend. My wife and I have both tried it a little. We both have the same response, cough and gag. Just like smoking a super strong analog when you aren't used to it. I have seen quite a few of the how to videos, seems like everyone has this issue once in awhile.

So, here is my question. Is it the strength of the juice I have (24mg), or is it that we have to get used to the vapor (maybe being denser than smoke)? So far we like everything about them, except the ability to vape them full time.

Any suggestions?

Its the vapor, not the nicotine - the nic is just that nic high. You can try different mixes - VG, for me, feels smoother, sweeter, and makes more vapor.

PG gives more throat hit, but feels a little rougher because of it.

You could try picking up some VG (vegetable glycerin, food grade) at walmart, cvs, etc, and mixing that in - it may make it feel a bit smoother for you.

And good luck with the transition, it went well for me, hope it does for you too :D

Many of those videos are straight lung inhalers and that will make me cough every single time. My wife coughed on each hit for two days. She just puffed a bit then took smaller inhales until she was able to mouth inhale. A bit of a 'pipe/cigar' puff was needed like when you're trying to keep a fire lit on a pipe - drag, open mouth take in some air, drag, another open mouth air inhale then bite down and drag and inhale ;-) The additional air dilutes the vapor some but you're building up some vapor by doing that as well. But do that on a gradient.
