I've never really paid much attention to the term "throat hit" because I didn't really care to understand what it meant...actually I had never eve heard of the term when I smoked. It wasn't until I started using the e-cig, until I first heard about it.
So since I've been vaping, I've only been vaping 0MG juice (no nic.)
I recently started experimenting with nicotine in my juice (because I still have craving issues almost 1.5 years into being smoke free.) So I talked with my doctors about it and they were fine with it. So I'm a bit confused as to what is going on here...
A bottle of 12MG caramel...when I took a drag on it I immediately gagged and pulled away from the device (all within about a second.) I assume this is "throat hit?" If so it's not very fun lol. I have tried lower dose juice (for instance I tried a 4MG a few weeks ago and I couldn't even tell the difference between it and 0MG juice.)
So am I safe to assume that one gets a throat hit from the nicotine and NOT the flavor of the juice? Maybe I ought to try 6MG or 8MG? The 12 was harsh man...I know you are probably laughing but it kicked my throat's ...!
One thing I noticed was that I could taste the nicotine...it reminded me when I briefly used the nicotrol inhaler system when I first quit. For those that don't know, it's a tiny plastic mouthpiece and you pop in nicotine cartridges (one at a time of course) and each cartridge lasts for 20 minutes or 24 hours (which ever comes first-after the seal has been broken on the cartridge of course.) But I remember going back over a year ago and I the nicotine taste that I got from this juice (after the hit wore off a bit) was the same taste I remembered from the inhaler system...was pretty interesting.
So if the nic is what gives the throat hit, I can't imagine how some of you are vaping 36MG? OMG...if I tried that it would probably knock me out.
