throat hit

I started off at a very low nic level (4mg) because I was never a big smoker
this past week I order some carts at 18mg for a friend to try because he smokes Marlboro reds (ick).
I wanted to try one of the carts just to try the flavor (555)
and omg what the ....... do people see in it having a throat hit?
It burns like hell. I hate hate hate it.

I'm scared it will frighten him away from trying e-cigs.
he already isn't very positive about them

TH is a very big thing for me. To me it doesn't burn and one of the things I enjoyed the most of smoking cigarettes was that feeling of the smoke and hit in the back of my throat and lungs. I don't know why, I just like it.

To give you an idea of how much I liked TH before they stopped making them my ciggie of choice were Kool Non-Filters. That menthol hit and general TH was just aaaahhh! wonderful.

ETA: I vape 24mg btw. I hope the 18mg is enough for him.

Love a strong throat hit, the stronger the better, the sensation of a horse kicking me in the throat kind of strength. It's preference. Going from 4mg to 18mg - i can see why the hatred's there lol. 18mg and higher is normal for a "Reds" smoker.
What are some of his concerns regarding E-cigs?

TH isn't for everyone. I'm not a lover of it. I feel your pain (pun intended). Some things I just cannot vape because of the TH. Heck even with analogs I always (for 19+ yrs) smoked doing the "hold in mouth then inhale" method to avoid harshness on the throat. I need high nic in my vape so it's a whole lot of playing around with style and juice to find the least TH and best vape for me.

That said he probably will want TH being a full-flavor smoker (though I was too and can't stand much TH we're all so different).

Make sure you "demo" it real good when he's watching. My lady hates anything that resembles a smoke, but she reckoned that I made the PV so enticing, she just had to try it. At first I had to pry it from her in fear that she would become addicted, but that fear passed lol. Every now and then she still vapes with me

I know a lot of folks here love 555, but I wouldn't use it to entice a Marl smoker. I'd go for something straighter, and definitely on the premium shelf. I'd probably offer the Tobac sampler and maybe a Virg Menth just for kicks. I went through this intro. process with a friend recently, and his choices reminded me of how diff we all are. He did find some stuff he liked, though. Well, good luck.

I am currently using 36mg and the TH is strong. I used to smoke lights and sometimes the TH is too much depending on how much I inhale. Overall tho I love the 36mg but will pry go down to 24mg.

I love my 36 mg TH. I like to take as big of a hit as I can to get as close as possible to forcefully coughing, but not actually coughing. It tends to help me not vape all day this way too.

I don't know if that's technically correct, but PG has more TH than VG in any flavor to me, but both have TH. I dun like actual burn - does anyone?
I noticed the other day that one thing nice about vape is that it's WARM. I mean, of course it is, but I hadn't specifically appreciated that. (I was walking the dog, and it was freezing outside.)

I like your description; far better than mine was. Yes I think weight is a good word to use and no I don't like burn. I do like the warmth as well.

Also IME PG has more TH as well.

The 555 juice - even with 0mg has a HARD CORE TH!! For those of you who think its just the nic...I don't find that to be the case. It partially contributes to the TH but the flavor is KEY!! I actually love 555 cartos but hate the cleaned and refilled 555s without altering it because the TH is CRAZY STRONG

I vape 24-36mg and love it
you don't inhale directly like a cigarette that will hurt and be too strong of a hit
inhale to fill your mouth then inhale into your lungs.
He will most likely think 18 is weak if he smokes reds.

I inhale 36mg and I don't think it's too strong.. it is strong I'll admit, but not too strong. I let one of my friends try it and he was coughing for like a minute straight with barely any vapor coming out too. I direct inhale, get huge vapor, and no cough. Needless to say I warned him it was strong..

I don't find that at all with any 0mg liquid.
IMO, if that were true (my primary vape is 555) I would be off nic by now. I actually had to go up (from 18mg to 24mg) to get the TH I wanted. Now my 18, 11, 6, and 0 are sitting in a drawer collecting dust.

More than likely you got some of ....ty carts from V4L. Some carts give awful throat hits and vape, others from the same pack work great. Even using blanks and nobacco juice, the throat hit to vape ratio can change every other hit. I have 4 batteries and a pass-through and it is this way on all of them. The only constant is the lack of consistency.

U get use to it, I smoke newport I stat with 18mg and i was to strong first couple of days so I decided to get some 11mg, but now i cant feel the 11mg so i try 18mg again and is just perfect so im sticking with the 18mg .
