Hey all,
Got my Ego this afternoon and love it so far. I think the vanilla and menthol juice taste the same at this point and I am wondering if it is because my atty isnt broken in. I have been dripping juice into the atty each time I have tried a flavor.
I seem to be coughing a lot. Like a dry cough, not like the typical smokers cough I have. Also my throat burns a little when I inhale. I have tried holding the vapor in my mouth and then inhaling but it still seems to be hurting.
I hope you guys will tell me it will smooth out a day or so after usage.

Oh and one other thing...I tried to smoke an analog and it tasted like crap! So that is great news. I also have been going outside and vaping to keep with my routine. We will see how the coffee and analog habit in the morning goes.

If you've dripped both menthol and vanilla on to the same atty, they will taste the same. Menthol is one of those flavors that really settles into an atty and is almost impossible to get out. Do you have any other attys? If so, dedicate one to menthol and use the other for your vanilla.

You don't say what mg you're using, if it's fairly high, that may be why your throat is burning. If it's all PG (propylene glycol) that will also be harder on yout throat.

One last thing, all vaping dries out your throat so make sure you are drinking a LOT of water. I mean a lot. Many of us experienced sore throats when we first stopped smoking and started vaping. It does pass, I promise.

This morning I was worried as my coffee and smokes on the way to work is big... So far today I have had to hits from a cig.... But everything just taste like crap today and my throat is irritated. Not sure if I just burned it all up or just me and the flavor I have.

Okay that is good to know about the atty. Yes it was the same one and I started with the menthol flavor. I have a complete other one but I want to hold off on using my other atty until my spares get here later this week. I am also expecting some juice from FSUSA.
The bottle of menthol juice is all VG 16 mg nuport flavor from cignot.
Thanks for the reply. It was very helpful:)

You should like the FSUSA juice most people do. If your coughing alot might want to slow down a bit. It did make me cough Quite bit when i got started. So your not alone. I know it has already been said but Be sure to drink lots of water

My cough initially went away in the first week after starting vaping (from 2-3 PAD smoking), but after about two months with PG based juice it came back, that dry cough on every puff, but even more worrying was the screaming sore throat, pain in my left lung, and hoarseness that sounded like a 13-year-old boys' voice. It was the PG. I'd been drinking enough water, etc.
So I went to VG, the problem went away, but after a week or so I filled a cart with my PG again, back it came, before the cart was even empty. I've been with VG ever since, no more trouble. Seems like once you gain a sensitivity to PG it doesn't fade away as you would think. Could be with a new "toy" you may just be over-doing a bit, but try some VG based juice for awhile. AND DRINK 2 LITERS OF WATER EVERY DAY WHILE VAPING.
So glad your taste for cigarettes is gone, that's a worthy note! Congratulations!!

Definitely drink more - a LOT more - and always drink while vaping or your throat will punish you. Water is best but any liquid is better than nothing (alcohol can also dry you out though so be sparing with that).
Also try to vape a little slower because that can cause coughing too (8 plus months in and I still forget that one lol).

Just my .02 worth, but I believe that I read back when I first started vaping that the mouth / throat go through a healing process after being away from actual smoke. This same thing happened to me as well and only lasted about 3-5 days tops. That's just my personal experience, but more importantly to note that you're not alone with this. I'm pretty sure that it's common amongst most e-cig users when they first start.

Before vaping I had smokers cough which totally went away. Now, I get that dry cough from time to time. Whenever it happens I realize that I have not been drinking enough. Occassionally a flavor like lemon ice or cola will cause the cough with me - they are not smooth going down like vanilla or cheesecake. This seems to be a once in a while thing and I just switch flavors. Good luck to you.
