I just received my kit from Vapor4Life.
Before that, I was vaping on Happy Vaper e-liquids; it was smooth and cool.

Right now, I tried about 3 different flavours from Vapor4Life: RY4, Fruit Punch and Dunhall. While they are tasty, they give me this irritation in the back of the throat which makes me want to cough.

Is that what "Throat hit" is?

It depends, what was the nic level of your old juice and what level is the new, are they pg, vg, or a mix? Try drinking more water, some of my juices irritate my throat but drinking more water usually helps. If the irritant doesnt calm down and you start to get sore a throat even with drinking while you vape you migjt be having a minor allergic reaction to one of the ingrediants in the new juice.

Some of the flavors are very strong and that adds to the throat sensation. But actual soreness is nicotine in thin juice and the added heat of the KR808D-1 at 3.7 v with Vapor4Life's slightly low ohms cartos especially the WOW cartos. 808's are probably the warmest hit of any slim mini. In addition, their non-VG juices are very thin so I suspect high PG content of 80 to 90% and that lets through the TH and irritation of nicotine very well.

I use the samples to find ones I like and there are some that are too strong. If I keep vaping one I will top if off with juice I have that is somewhat compatible (like a vanilla or a plain tobacco). One flavor a loved a lot (WOWbacco) was just too much TH for me on the KR8 so I bought a bottle and vaped that flavor in a Boge carto on a manual 510 (also a very nice carto experience and not as hot as V4L).

If you top off a too-strong prefill with a less intense juice it will change the vape within the first day. I've been topping off this sour cherry prefill from a sampler w/ an 80/20 peach blend I made at Gourmet Vapor and it's very vapable now.

In the beginning the throat can really be a problem.I had issues big time with nose and throat and got really scared. My nose bleed and shut so bad that vaping seemed the problem.I Drink like a crazy person when vaping but thats always been true(either smoking /vaping) it almost turned me off to vaping. The problem that was my issue was newness, old product( friend gave me his six month old florida sun stuff), and a virgin throat. To this day when I up the voltage it effects my day after vaping experience. Its strange to switch over to vaping no doubt ask in the vet or any section that can help, its worth it.Good luck.

The Fruit punch one is no-nic, the rest is 8mg and 11mg.
I don't even know what they have (pg/vg/mix).

It's just a bit harsh and I was getting used to having the vapor smoothly.

Same here, still searching around for something more smoother. I used to smoke Belmonts.

I also tried various types: PG 18mg and found it way to harsh like I was going to cough out a lung.

Right now I'm trying the VG @ 11mg and still find it a little irritating on the throat.

Hopefully this package that comes in tomorrow is a little better. It's a 8mg 60/40 pg/vg.

BTW where are you ordering from since your in Canada?

Both PG and VG are hygroscopic - they absorb moisture from the air and the lining in your throat and lungs. That's why drinking more water helps, it restores the moisture you're losing. It does take a few days to get used to it, but in the mean time it makes you cough. I've got a coworker who has said several times that he'd switch to an e-cig, but he smokes Camel Unfiltered, and he didn't think a wimpy little e-cig could satisfy him. The other day I got in some new drip tips (I like the way they feel, so I use them on my cartomizers) and handed him my ProVari to take a puff. He just about coughed up a lung. He doesn't think e-cigs are weak substitutes for his Camel Unfiltered anymore. ;)

I had the same problem with PG, I vape VG mostly. Sometimes I'll cut my vg juice with pg (just because of the flavors i have).
After a couple weeks of vaping vg, pg was less of an irritant to me. And yes, pg is used in many edible products, but those products don't evenly coat the entire lining of your mouth, throat, nose, and lungs. Not trying to be a doushe, just pointing it out.
My impression of TH is being able to feel the smoke as you inhale, burning or not. I'm still not really sure to be honest.

Drink more water, use VG, maybe less nic, and it should fix your issue. Also, flooding the atty can give you a burnt taste, and I find that irritates my throat/nasal passage just as bad.

Good luck!

I don't think you're a douche, just under-informed. The vapor point of PG means it bakes out, so part of that wonderful cake baking smell is carried on vaporized PG. It's also used in cigars, pipe tobacco, etc., to control and maintain moisture - that's definitely inhaled. In an experiment, they piped it through the ventilation system at hospitals, because vaporized PG is antimicrobial. Definitely inhaled there, too. It's been around for decades and is widely used.
