Really, this mod has been on the market for a year now and obviously others don't see the problem with it because they are still selling it. And in all honesty I happen to own one (or maybe 2) and it does a very good job, fits the hand well and is no different than the fake grenades sitting on peoples desks that are cigar lighters. Oh and you can still buy those as well.

If you feel there's a problem with the design then don't buy one. And don't buy a 134 either because unlike the name CoolFire 2 which doesn't say grenade the 134 is supposed to look like a M134 minigun.

BTW, I'm not objecting because it is a symbol of something violent.
I'm objecting because - it Really is dangerous in today's world to possess things that look like weapons.
It's just plain stupid.

Think about the deaths that have occurred when a child has flashed a toy gun.
Then think about the potential of authorities at an airport or some other public event seeing that CF 2 in someone's bag.

Cmon. The world changed. And there's no longer any room in it for objects that look very, very much like an actual grenade.

I have to disagree with you

There's no room in the world anymore for knee-jerk reactions because something looks vaguely like a weapon

Cops making an honest mistake is one thing. Cops being WAY to trigger-happy should be ended

TSA getting their collective panties in a twist over, well, whatever? They're actors in security theater, and need to be done away with anyway

my 2 cents;

It only becomes an issue if you make it one.

Gun shops, flea markets, and a plethora of other small shops have been selling military grade ammo cans, even decommissioned land mines and grenades for years. Hell when I was little, we had 2 old real grenades that were decommissioned and used to play with them all the time.

I was tempted to buy a cool fire 2 because of its design. I opted not to because it didnt suit my needs. FT has several other "questionable" designs, and tbh I wanna get em for collectors value before theyre gone.

But for me, someone vaping of a grenade would make me laugh, not run and hide. dunno, guess I just have a wee bit more common sense...

No, I was only half kidding.

Without getting into a political rant that would best be posted in the Outside, let's just say that I am being told that I must not only tolerate, but "accept" things that offend me. So I accept them, because I am at heart a live and let live kind of guy. I want to be happy, and I want other people to be happy.

However, I am not going to tailor my lifestyle or purchases for fear of triggering some adverse reaction in someone with hair-trigger sensitivity. Not to mention I know a few lawyers that LOVE civil rights violation cases.... :2c:

To be honest, I don't have a problem with Innokin making this. It can be a cool mod to have on the bar in your man-cave (do people still use that term?) or when you're watching a football game with your buddies.

I would have a problem with someone bringing this out in public, when you're in a crowd of people who don't know you. The concept of "Reasonable" is well established as a legal standard, particularly for situations involving (real or percieved) threats. As in "Reasonable Man" or "Reasonable Expectation".

Whether it's a cool fire, or a child's plastic hand grenade, strangers who see you pull it out do have a reasonable expectation that they're being threatened. And the reaction is likely to be dangerous to the public if people start running away, pushing each other, crowding the doors, etc. It's the same principle as yelling "fire" in a crowded theater when there is no fire. And to be honest I would have little sympathy for someone who got arrested for pulling one out in public, or for causing an airport shutdown, etc.

Come on, let's be reasonable here. Even if you have a license to carry, if you take a replica gun and pull it out of your belt in a bank, you should expect the people around you to feel threatened, and to react accordingly, and you shouldn't feel that because the threat isn't "real" that it's OK.

I don't blame Innokin; I think it's a product that has a valid space in the market. But that doesn't mean it's cool or funny to whip it out in a crowd.

Weird

I've seen a couple of these out "in the wild". Never once thought one was an actual grenade of any kind. And the first time I saw one was before I ever started vaping

There goes your "reasonable man" argument. JUST the mod, maybe. In actual use, with a tank on it (and being brought up towards the face to take a hit)? Not so much

Cylindrical mech mods look like pipe bombs...does that mean that it's irresponsible for manufacturers to make them? What if someone accidentally left one on a bus ...would it be reasonable for someone else to assume it was dangerous? People all too often project their own sensitivities and fears onto this mythological "common man". The Crime Control Act of 1968 made owning destructive devices like hand grenades illegal and you simply don't see them anymore. I think it is much more likely that people would assume it's either a toy or a deactivated shell rather than a live grenade.
