An rta For vaping is the name chosen by ThunderCloud in collaboration with Coilturd for the brand's second RDL/DTL release in this 2026. After the Blaze RTA MTL, ThunderCloud makes a return to an airier vaping where RDL manages to express itself in all its facets, thanks to the accessories included in the package to modulate it to your liking and also make happy those looking for a timid DTL vape. 25 mm diameter, 39.5 mm width and 316 steel material. Always precious packaging with the tin box that keeps the contents safe. Besides the An RTA For Vaping there are two chimney blocks / top caps for the 3.5 and 4.5 ml configuration, several o-rings, 510 drip tip reducer, chamber reducer and leg trimmer. 510 threaded stand branded ThunderCloud and two 3-core clapton coils x3 28g + 36g on a 3 mm core.
The drip tip is an 810 in plastic material thought mostly for cloud. It is also possible to "close it" through the 510 adapter provided in the package in case you want to use RDL drip tips. The top cap made of solid steel, as ThunderCloud has accustomed us, features a circular processing to increase grip and make rotation easy or in my case, since it's the Limited Edition, due to the engraving. The connection is the usual bayonet / quarter turn to open or close and two wide slots for the refill.
As anticipated, the top cap - chimney is a single body with the 3.5 and 4.5 ml ones present in the package. The pyrex tank is held by an o-ring and the connection between chimney and chamber occurs via thread. Being a fan, it is possible to refill it "from below" by unscrewing the tank section and in turn, with the tank full of eliquid it is possible to simply unscrew the deck and rebuild.
The An RTA For Vaping is a side airflow atom, so air that enters from the sides through the rotatable air ring. In the package there are two choices between the one equipped with 3 holes and the one with 14 small holes. Both allow to restrict to your liking the wide slot below and obtained from the chamber. A limit switch is present for the ring and when you want to change one, pay attention to reinsert it in the right direction.
The deck is a postless dual coil with the possibility, as ThunderCloud itself attests, to be able to set it also in single coil. Choice to the user whether to insert the legs of the build in parallel or "crossed" single. Through the tool in the package to cut the legs, the recommended measure is the shortest possible one which allows the air to hit the coil in the medium - low part which coincides with my favorite positioning when it comes to side airflow atoms. There is still enough space in the deck to experiment, while the wicking strictly requires to position the cotton in front of the entry holes, being sure to cover them all.
Even if it is a side airflow, the feeding enters the deck "laterally" through the cotton wells. Despite being quite wide, it is enough to place the cotton so that it covers the feeding holes exactly to not have leaking problems. A proper JFC is absent, for the first tests there is always the possibility to refill through the tank block and once you get familiar with the An RTA For Vaping you can use the more appropriate traditional refill.
The chamber reducer is held in position through two teeth that must be matched with the deck. O-rings are absent, all the sealing occurs by closing the deck, with the reducer remaining "closed" between deck and the true chamber. Impossible for it to generate shorts or to move once the An RTA For Vaping is closed. This simplifies even if you want to experiment an eliquid with and without reducer, making removal and insertion much faster. If you are worried about touching the reducer with the coil, cutting the legs to the recommended length leaves plenty of space.
Unscrewing the 510 pin, also equipped with an o-ring to avoid eliquid infiltrations into the box, you can release the block with the posts, held by a single o-ring since by rotating, it allows the bottom to be screwed to the chamber. From the deck you can extract the positive post and its insulator for a thorough cleaning.Small precaution: the 510 pin must be tightened to avoid that by unscrewing the deck from the tank block, the bottom could separate from the deck.
The flavor rendering as is easily understood is for fruits, creams and variants. The thinnest wire I tried in it was a 26g with chamber reducer and for me who do not love extreme heat, it went more than well. The maximum was still a 26g, but in dual coil which for me marks how much I can "bear", especially now that it is summer. The draw has a feeling much more appropriate for those coming from MTL vaping and do not particularly love top airflows. Especially in RDL in single you still manage to get a good initial contrast on an open draw which in my case, I find to be at least two rows of the air ring with the small holes and at least three quarters of the first hole of the one with the triple hole or there is a bit of false hit.It seemed to me anyway an atom more for RDL given the chimney size and mass and even by opening completely the atom (no reducer, air ring wide open) for a pure cloud vaper they might look for something even more open.
For the first time I happen to find a totally modular atom that covers any aspect of RDL and adapting, a timid cloud with everything needed present in the package: air ring, chamber reducer and 510 adapter. As a lover of side airflows I know how rare they are for this price range and I hope to see more in the future since this one, in its simplicity, seemed particularly successful to me.
