Time to quit smoking - take two

Hi everyone!

TL;DR
  1. decided to quit smoking for good
  2. one previous failed switch to vaping due to lack of knowledge & experience
  3. educated myself yesterday on everything there is to know (except rda/RTAs, that looks like it takes some time to learn)
  4. took advantage of LaborDay sales all over the web and saved a ton of money, but still probably spent too much
  5. Grade my haul! (list at the bottom)
I've been smoking cigarettes for nearly 8 years, started in college like I'm sure many here did. This past week I got to the point where many of you in this community have likely been with tobacco use in my personal (coughing up tar, yellowing teeth, etc) and professional (the perception of smokers in office settings) life and I decided it is time to quit and that an E-Cig was the most direct route to doing so, with the goal of eventually stopping nicotine use completely.

I've attempted the switch once before about a year ago. I purchased an Innokin iTaste VV V3.0 and an Aspire Nautilus Mini and a few juices from a local shop. While this setup worked decently, I stopped using it completely within a month and went back to cigarettes. I made a mistake many first timers have probably made in that I did not do my homework on what I was purchasing and limited myself by only relying on a local shop for information and gear. So yesterday, I went to /r/electronic_cigarette and began educating myself, where I discovered this forum chalk full of educational resources on everything I wanted to know about vaping from a ton of passionate people. I've found the amazing online vaping community to be much more approachable and helpful than the high pressure sales situation I was in when I first purchased a kit without any idea what I was doing.

My timing also couldn't have been better due to the insane number of Labor Day sales going on this weekend. I decided to go all in on my purchases and put my research and those coupon codes to use. While I could have spent a lot less money and still received a high quality vaping experience from a cheaper kit, I opted for what I perceive to be an high quality mod with a ton of utility, a few different options of tanks and coils, and probably too many juices (they all sound so good!).

Here's my haul, please grade me :) and sorry for the wall of text. I'm looking forward to being a member of the vaping community here at ECF!

Hello @Paramitas , and welcome to the forum. Solid A grade. I am somewhat jealous of your list, but I may see one small issue. Batteries. Only 2? (If you bought more I apologize and give you an A+) The Samsung are some of the most widely used in mods and I have 3 married pairs for my Sig. My thinking was one set for the mod, one as a spare set, and one on charge.

Here's some more of the battery links :

Smoking for 10 years. Vaped and never looked back

Yeah, @NaughtyClownn I hear you. If I don't stick with it this time it has nothing to do with a lack of quality vaping equipment that's for sure.

I've been asking myself often recently, "If not now, when?" and I can't give a good answer (later doesn't qualify) - meaning the best time to quit is now. I'm pretty committed to making this transition work, so we will see how my willpower holds up.

After vaping i just cannot stand the smell of analogs. Even the taste seems weird. Its does not give me the cool chest feeling vaping does. However to make up for my years of smoking, i vape almost a tank a day. 1 30ml bottle would prolly last me around 5-6 days? The liquids we choose also plays a part, iam vaping on mango lassi, it burns like a biatch, but heck, its uber smooth. Even so, i save wayyy more den on analogs.

Looks like you got some good hardware! I had a similar experience as you with trying to switch to vaping multiple times. One thing that helped me the first couple weeks was to carry a pack of cigarettes with me. I would smoke one in the morning and one at lunch and vape the rest of the time after a few weeks I lost the pack of cigarettes and bam! I'm full time vaping. It has been a process for me but I haven't smoked in 58 days. Good luck!
