10 million smokers, averaging 20 cigs a day at £6 a pack of which about £5 is tax, thats 50 mil a day, times 365 , £18,250,000,000 (18 billion) a year in tax revenue, do you think they actually want us to stop smoking, not to mention smokers die younger, so thats less people to pay for when we are old, what is the cost if 10 million retired people living 5 years longer.
Eciggs have already cost the goverment about 1 billion of lost revenue, of course they are mad and are going to try to control this,if all the smokers gave up and vapped, the goverment would be 18 billion a year down, the goverment is nothing more than a drug barron, they are happy for its people to pay
through the nose and die younger. They are also quite happy to pretend to care and be trying to stop smokers as they know that its very hard to give up, and no amount of stop smoking campaigns will help. But it looks good.
