Tips - what kind do you prefer and why? Material, shape, length, appearance, etc.

What do you look for in a tip?

Are you most concerned with finding something that looks "just right" on the end of your setup, or are you willing to compromise on appearance because you find some type of tips vastly more functional than others? Do you prefer acrylic, wood, glass, metal, or ??? Hourglass shape vs. straight - there are so many choices!

I love the look of some of the handmade glass tips, but I fear for their lives in my hands. Maybe they're small enough to not be terribly fragile?

I have and use acrylic, glass, ceramic, TruStone, and metal. Many of the metal tips look great, but I don't particularly like the feel of metal on my lips. I like the look and feel of glass the most. Probably the most comfortable tips I have though are the Knucklehead adjustable drips tips.

I've got several pyrex tips and they have taken some abuse from drops or falls on mods, but I've never chipped or broken a single one. They're pretty durable. But I do understand your fear only because of their cost involved. I believe the likelihood of them falling off and losing them is greater than of them breaking.

Welcome , but has been my experience . I only use metal , hourglass types these days . I have broken countless numbers of plastic , acrylic , and glass , and was getting too expensive , so I went to metal and haven't broken one since .

That's good to hear. I'm probably overly nervous about it because I ordered some gorgeous pyrex earrings off of Etsy recently and it only took me two days to break one of them. They're larger than a tip though, and it was sort of a freak accident (fell out of my hands when taking it out of my ear, bounced out of my ceramic sink and shattered on the tile floor).

Thanks for the link! That grey and orange tip you have labeled "Triple V pyrex 1" is to die for! It reminds me of a plume of smoke. Also, thank you for taking the time to put together your blogs on cartotanks, etc. - I found them very informative!

Are we related? We seem to have similar coordination levels.

I'm thinking I should pick up a metal tip to use as a backup at the very least. I need a ruggedized all-metal backup setup... with a roll cage!

I'll be a fanboi and share this link: Drip Tips, tips, tru stone tips Brett's are the only tips I use now. I'm not gonna lie, the cost is high, quite high actually. But the craftsmanship & materials involved in his tips are second to none IMO.

I can't use SS or Aluminum tips because they get to hot on my lips. But that's just the way I vape. I find that tru stone & acrylic tips disperse heat very, very well.
