That device will do what it was designed to do, but I would personally put that money into the slap-yo=momma tool. It does what the madvapes tool does to assist filling a tank, but it also protects o-rings from the sharp edges of the carto. Take a look at the PBusardo video review of it that I included in my earlier post here. Money worth investing into your tank collection. Best device I've bought in vaping besides my Provari.

I have a the knock-off of the slap yo momma, and I actually like this better...ah well, to each his own ;)

Hi All -

I've been trying to recoil my vivi nova heads but it's just not working out - I know it's not rocket science and I'll coiled a few, got the correct ohms but I get a burned taste pretty quick (I'm using 32 wire, cotton wick materials - even tried cotton balls) but anyhow, I'm not getting more than a few days use out of each vivi mini nova head and these are the originals from the gotvapes.

I think I'm going to switch over to a cartomizer setup - I used it with my kr808d and liked the simplicity of it and I'm really just tired of the vivi's (I always got dry hits, burning, flooding) so what do you guys recommend.

I read through some posts and it seems like people like the IkenVapes but I couldn't figure out which I needed from there - also, they only sell a big 6ML tank which would look rediculous on my little ego. I'm hoping for some advice on a tank setup with IKV or whatever cartos are the best.

My setup is both and ego-c twist and a vision spinner (and I have juice from most of the recommended vendors, heathers, backwoods, etc.)

Thanks!

replacement attys are $2.39 each at hoosier ecigs website. i just ordered 6 more last week, i been getting a month of use out of each atty, running 100% vg, and washing/dry burn the atty after every, or every other tankful.

Have you checked out Triple V tanks from Valley View Vapes? They also have Pyrex tanks. Their poly tanks are pretty inexpensive and they can be filled from the side with a syringe.
Big tanks for big mods. The thing about the Triple V tanks is that if you get the ones without the side fill screw, you are forced to fill them with a needle and syringe. The silicone grommets that come in place of regular endcaps are too tight to slide a carto out to fill a tank. I only recommend them if people get the ones with the side fill hole or get the extra aluminum endcaps to replace the grommets.

I did a complete review of these Triple V tanks here, complete with many pics: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tank-reviews/312709-valley-view-tanks-7ml-pyrex-tank-review.html

I have both the tank refilling tool and the SYM tool....use both all the time. The refilling tool Cookster mentioned is invaluable for refill-top offs on the go. Don't even have to take the tank off the batt (depending on your tank set up, of course...but I'm talking about traditional tanks like the ST DCT tanks. And I do use single coils with them btw) The SYM is ideal for switching out cartomizers and also refilling. I think both are "must haves" for the cartotank fan!

Thanks for all the great advice - the ~$2 is not a big deal but I was blowing through a head a day which could get pricey. On a positive note, after I wrote up the post yesterday I tried one more time to rebuild my vivi head and.....SUCCESS - it turns out I was using way too much cotton and a thin strand is all that was needed.

Since all of this great advice though - I'm going to try a tank setup just to give it a shot, you never know what you'll like until you've tried, right -

Thanks again - this forum rocks!

Make sure those center posts are, well centered. Spent the past 24 hours with less than pleasant vaping on my mini vivi nova and couldn't figure out what was going on. I've cleaned the heads after nearly every tank, dry burned, everything, then outta nowhere yesterday I was getting no flavor and it was harder to draw.

Had ordered some replacements heads previously and even screwing in a new head didn't help at all and I was getting pretty nervous and bummed. Took a closer look at the center post when I was cleaning the head today and noticed that it was leaning a bit to one side and used a pen to straighten it out. It's only been a few hours, but the MVN is working like it was before and I am a happy camper.

I know others have mentioned this but wanted to state it again in case others are running into the same problem as most of the tips are more related to the Vivi Nova as opposed to the mini.
