You probably already found your answer, Steam Engine lists Titanium 1.
I bought some on ebay I thought was 28g, turns out its 24g.
Where did you find 28g?
im not sure that titanium will work if its for temp control as the chip is programed to operate with nickel wire. its function is based on the ohm change in nickel and thats the way it works i gauges temp by the change in resistance
Titanium works with the dna 40s. You just have to use a lower set temperature because of the different temperature coefficient of resistance. There are some post around by Rossum that describe his techniques. TI is all he uses.

Rossum turned me onto Ti and it's all I use. If you try the 24ga I think you'll like it. On my drippers 6 spaced coils on a 3mm bit gives me a consistent .21Ω. It refines much less and is really nice to work with when building. I've had a coil in my N22 going on 3 weeks now and only re-wicked twice. Temp setting is between 300° - 320°
