Not necessarily a problem using titanium on a mech mod. Extra care just needs to taken to make sure that the coil doesn't get too hot. Don't remember the exact temp where titanium oxide starts to form, but I'm pretty sure that it's in the nasty dry hit territory.

What can I expect to get from a titanium wire build on a mechanical mod?
So long as you pulse titanium at low wattages while dry burning, you can expect a fantastic vape. I vape almost exclusively on titanium coils coupled with mechanicals. Benefits include a near immediate ramp up, durability, abillity to build low with a sane number of coil wraps and little to no taste introduced by the wire itself. Vape quality tends to change due to the rise in resistance, but so long as you build around 0.20 ohms and keep your wick(s) wet, your overall experience with titanium builds will remain outstanding.

600C has been qualified here on ECF as the maximum safe limit for titanium grade 1.
