ok so i've only been vaping for 6 days, so i'm pretty green still :D. i originally bought the 801 which i love, but curiousity killed the cat and i ordered the 510. i just tried dripping in the 801 2day because i received the manual battery and figured what the heck it cant be that hard, and well i kind of really liked it. so i'm wondering why doesnt everyone just drip? am i missing something, i mean you dont have to screw with cartridges of filling them or anything, just drip and puff right?

i would really like to hear everyones opinions on this, pros and cons, how to's and how to nots :) and why do you or dont you drip.....

thanks in advance all

Dripping is convenient when it's convenient. Okay, that's a confusing statement. Let me elaborate.

It's convenient to drip when you're at your desk at work, or on the couch at home. Why mess with the cartridges when all your stuff's right there?

However, what if you're on a long drive?

I do feel that dripping is superior, when it's practical. But you should always have a fresh cartridge or two, just in case.

As far as the 510 goes, dripping is easy. Just don't overdo it or you'll be wiping up a leaky mess. No more than 2-3 drips at a time (I only do 2). Also, you're not dripping on the atomizer; you're dripping on the wick/bridge. Make sure it goes right down the center, onto the bridge. If it's on the side of the casing, it's probably going to leak.

Also, any model with an exposed atomizer, you should be dipping instead of dripping.

ok lol shoot me now, whats the difference, and how do i know exposed as opposed to not exposed (say that ten times fast!)

and what is dipping ........ oh geesh i know i'm sounding more and more like a ..... lmao, just want to get this right :)

Check the thread I linked to; there's pictures that show the difference. Also, the "new" atomizer has a slightly larger casing, which makes the normal cartridges seem a little loose-fitting.

An exposed atomizer is one where the wick/bridge is actually out in the open. Dipping is, instead of dripping liquid onto the bridge, you're just dipping the bridge into some liquid (usually held in a contact lens case).

A non-exposed atomizer is the 510; the casing surrounds the bridge, therefore making dipping pretty much impossible.

Example of "exposed bridge" atomizer: M401, Joye 306
Example of "non-exposed bridge" atomizer: Joye 510

Ive been using my 801 now for about a month and love it. I too got tired of messing with carts and started trying to drip. That was about 2 weeks ago and I've not looked back since. Just be careful not to drip to many drops and realy try to drop on the bridge like telegraft said. I have been doing 3 drops and thats it. Im afraid if I do much more I'll risk flooding it but so far I've had absolutely no problems and will not mess with carts anymore. Drip it!

I only drip one or two drops when I change to new cart on my 510. In my opinion dripping is just not convenient. I think when you are using carts its all about how you refill them. The best way I have found is the way "UBRocked" shows in his video on Youtube. I can't post the link yet but you can search for "Properly Refilling Titan, Joye, Dura, and Yeti 510 Cartridges with e-liquid" and watch it. I really wasn't enjoying my 510 until I found this.

First of all, I'm glad that the video helped you. I think that dripping is not as convenient as using carts in certain circumstances but I still do drip. Having said that when I am at home, I vape with much more frequency and I don't put the thing down that often. I can drip about 3-4 drops without any spillage and that will last me about 10-15 inhales. I have a PCC and carry one atty that I use with carts and one atty (usually a well broken in atty) to drip with. If you notice a nasty aftertaste (after dripping for a day or so), just put the corner of a paper towel into the cart end of the atty and blow through the battery end. After 2-3 times (swapping corners), this will get most of the old e-juice out of the atty and will then deliver better vapor and throat hit. You should notice the e-juice you blow out will be darker than the color of the juice you were using to drip. I'm not sure what adds to the color but I'm guessing that is what is giving me that taste. Just wanted to share that with you. There is a video showing what I just described and is the featured video on my YouTube Channel. Just search UBRocked - I cannot post links yet either lol!

I promote this site more than I actually log onto it. Everyone does a great job sharing good info on here and I for one thank you all!

I decided to try direct dripping today, maybe its the juice i'm using I don't get that much of a difference compare to the PTB carts. However I want to direct drip because it kind of emulates analog being that 2 drops = 1 ciggy where as with cart I have no idea.

I have a problem, I'm using a completely blank out cart to direct drip. After I drip I would take 2-3 puffs than pull the cart out, I can see there is residue vapour in the cart that will only go away when i blow it out. Is this normal?
