To Drip or Not to Drip?

So, after about a week in the lovely land of vaping, I have come across the concept of dripping e-liquid into "atomizers" vs. filling "cartomizers". My newbie 510 starter kit came with cartomizers, and I have just ordered a new "silver Bullet" mod into which I intend to drip some new e-liquid I also just ordered.

Just looking for a few responses on either side of the fence....what do people prefer?

Dripping on an atty will usually give a better flavor and hit than a carto.

Atty's cost more, and burn out easily(especially with novice vapers)

Atty's hold very little liquid, and require constant filling.

If you are new to this, get cheap cartos, you are going to screw a few of them up.

Try dripping. But always have some cartos on hand.

Welcome , but I do both (drip and carto's) I have several mods , and use tanks on some , atty's for dripping on some , and finally I use some Boge carto's on a few , as well . I actually stick some wicking down inside the atty's , to hold a bit more juice . They last a bit longer in between dripping . But now mostly I'm using re-buildable atty's /tanks . I use an Iatty as a dripping atty (uses about 20 drops at a time) a line V2 , a G-Tank U.S. ( atty top ) an RDA by clockworks . So lots of options . I like dripping flavor and vapor , just don't like having to drip constantly , therefore the re-builables .

I tried dripping and while they have great flavour and hit, I can't stand to do it all the time, it's so easy to flood an atty and can be a very messy job. I use carto's simply cause they are easier to use, I use the CE2's cleromizers which because of the top coil and no filler are almost as good.

A word of caution regarding the Silver Bullet and dripping: juice spills are an inevitable fact of the dripper's life, and the SB has no spill cup; I can attest to the fact that the paint around the connector will break down after repeated spills, and will eventually recede outward.

Why not drip, it's just another tool in the arsenal. Just remember that there is a lerning curve to dripping without having any problems just like anything else. For your SB you do want to head over to empiremods and pick up a sealed 510 shorty extension and a drip shield.

Atty is better flavor delivery and a little learning curve like everything else ecig related. Just keep it wet.

DO NOT OVERFILL your dripping addy. I was doing that and making a huge mess. Couldn't understand why so many raved about dripping. Folks here helped me understand that my addy only required two drops of juice. Now, I get it!

Different atomizers can be a little different in regards to how many drops of juice they will hold onto before leaking. There is a slight learning curve involved when dripping with a new atomizer. Leakage is inevitable, at least occasionally no matter how careful you are. As mentioned, some PVs are designed with a well to hold the leakage. If the Silver Bullet does not have such a well then it can easily become a mess to deal with during leakage. Be prepared to deal with it before hand just in case so you don't have to run for a paper towel while cupping one hand under your PV.
My Provari and REO Grand have ample leakage wells around the atty base.
My Omega, not so much.
