Ok, so I was planning to purchase a Provari or Provari mini until I was reading another thread and realized that it wasn't a VW mod. Anyway, I'm not totally turned off from buying one, but wanted to pursue some other options as well. Let me start out by saying I am looking for an APV that I can use at home as well as on the go. Something smallish with a nice form factor. I don't mind if it uses 18350 or 18500 batteries if it keeps the size down. I was going to get an SVD but it's really too large to take on the go and I prefer sleeker lines vs the bulging battery compartment of the SVD. I have been considering the SID and the eVic. Also thought of some of the sigelei. I will primarily be using Protanks of varying sizes. Also prefer ego and 510 threading. Any suggestions or insight would be greatly appreciated.

I too was in the same boat as you but never actually considered the proVari, too rich for my blood!!! I was torn between the Evic & SiD you know for something that I could use @ the office and on the Run. I got alot of useful insight and out of everything that I recieved one APV stood out, it was sleek, Affordable and both VV/VW, and quite "Small-ish" taking the 18350 battery... The ZMAX Mini!!! Now there's to different variants out there but the one I chose was made made Sigelei, and the other by SMOK... I chose the Sigelei Basically because the user interface seems to be alot more intuative than the SMOK, pretty works on the same line as the SiD... I ordered mine Last week and it should be here Soon I Hope!!!! Ohh, and I failed to mention it favors the ProVari Mini in looks IMHO.....

After ego batteries I upgraded to a provari and loved it. In my curiosity in subohming I finally got my first chi you mech mod and temporily retired my provari. My provari is still my baby and don't regret getting it. 18350 didn't last me past 2 hours when chain vaping but 18490 lasted me through the day. Carrying an extra 18490 was a good idea

Well, I guess I thought I would post an update to this.
I went to a local store yesterday that was an authorized Provape dealer. They also had the SID, the SVD, eVic, Silver Bullet, and some others. They said they didn't stock the Provari Mini any longer because their customers always chose the full size. An employee had a Mini with extension cap which basically made it a full size, and we put the standard cap on it. I loved the size, but the button placement was really low. Even for me, and I have smaller hands (I'm only 5'8"). I then played with the SID and SVD and several others. Everything else just felt "cheap" compared to the Provari. The Provari's weight is a little on the heavy side, but it is definitely a solid device.
I really wanted a VV/VW device because VV only seems a little dated to me (I know that they are the same thing, one is simply automatic).
In the end, I purchased a Provari (standard finish) w/blue display, a Pro Tank 3 (because the 2 seemed to have airflow issues on the Provari and was told I could use Pro Tank 2 single coil heads in it), an Xtar VP1 charger, and two 18490 batteries.
I chose it because it's built like a tank, has a great warranty, and Provape has offered to upgrade Provaris in the past for a small fee.
My only concern was the possibility that they will come out with version 3 VV/VW immediately after I bought mine, and they probably will, lol ( your welcome Provari fans).
I love my new Provari, it's great!
The scrolling menu system can be a pain, but not bad. My only gripe is that I intend to use this on the go, as well as at home, and wish the power off function could be gotten to a little faster. The excessive button pushing to get to the power function when on the go, makes button longevity concern me a little, but at least I can get it repaired rather than have to toss it.
I pretty much use Pro Tanks with roughly the same coil resistance for all my flavors so I don't think lack of VW will be an issue. I simply put on a "tank" adjust voltage to taste and leave it.
I could have achieved the same vaping experience for less money, but I'm glad I bought the Provari. The build quality is flawless, it performs great, and I think it will outlive me!
I highly recommend anyone in the market for a new APV check out the Provari.

Glad to hear that you love your ProVari. I have three (2 standard and 1 mini), and despite having seven other mods, I use one of the Provari's 95% of the time. The mini is my go to mod out of the house because of its easy pocketability.

The main reason I feel the Provari is worth the money is because of it's durability and dependability. Mine have survived falls onto concrete several times without an incident. I've gotten to the point where I'll only check the tank, and not even worry checking the Provari. Even if it should break or dysfunction, it can always be fixed. Most other mods must be considered a throwaway if that happens. It all depends upon how you want to spend you money. I also prefer the ergonomics of the Provari: Its size, feel, and heft in my hand. I also prefer the vape I get from it compared to my other mods.

Why Provari?

Because today I hit the six month mark of being off cigarettes after 53 yrs which I would never have accomplished without vaping, and because it fell in the same month as Valentine's Day and my 37th wedding anniversary, I will get my 3rd ProVari which will be my second mini. Jewelry is not as useful OR enjoyable, and my non smoking/vaping husband is all for it. Besides the polished mini looks like a piece of jewelry in itself.

My first ecig was a MVP which I still have and use. Six days later won the first ProVari in raffle at my first vape meet. Two months later I wanted a mini ProVari for birthday present. Guess you can say I'm really liking the ProVari. It's pretty easy to use which was a must for this technophobic horse and buggy person. Yes, it's a heavier piece than most, less expensive mods; but that heftiness reminds me I'm suppose to be holding onto something. I like that it can be sent for updates or repair and that it has a warranty......all right here in the good ol' US of A. Someone, somewhere was looking out for me when I won that raffle!

I've had a provari since the summer and it is by far the best vaping experience i've had. I have a vamo, spinners and have vaped on a number of other devices (sid, evics, etc.) but nothing quite compares to the reliability of the provari. the vape is consistent throughout the entire charge of the battery and when it says its at 4.0V i know for sure its at 4v. the output is solid. I've dropped the thing a ton of times now, while on vacation i dropped it while attempting to hold a door open for someone and the screen broke on it. luckily, it works fine without it. i am now considering picking up a second one, maybe a mini as the comment I most often receive from smokers is "holy s**t that things huge." not that I mind.. :)

Yeah, part of me kind of wishes I had gotten a mini, but the size difference between the two isn't that much really. My full size with a pro tank 3 is a fraction shorter than my 1300mah winder with a Pro Tank Mini version 2 on it, and it's smaller than carrying around an MVP 2 or some of the other APV's. I even paid a little more for mine because of tax, but I couldn't wait. Besides, I got a much better charger, and it was meant to be. I couldn't decide if I wanted to spend the extra money on the blue display, but it turned out a blue display was all they had left in the color I wanted, so that decided it for me. Lol.
Not sure if I'm trying to convince myself or you fine people! Lol.

I am loving my Provari after having it for a week now! My previous regulated mod was an iTaste VTR which is also a great mod, but for some reason I like using the Provari more. To be quite honest, I really don't miss VW on the Provari. Having VV is all I really need, and I feel like the Provari hits smoother & harder (not sure why...it's subtle, but definitely noticable)....Right now I am running a Kayfun Lite Plus with a 1.3 Ohm coil on my Provari running at 4.1 volts, and it's pure vaping bliss!!

I have 5 of them. 2 Minis and 3 Standards. I've had them all for 2 years or more. The 3 Standards started life as version 1s, and were eventually converted to version 2. I have Kayfuns on all of them. My mechanicals are used for gennies and drippers. Since I've had my Provaris, I've tried several vv/vw devices: MVP, SID, Vamos, ZMax. None compare to the overall performance of the Provari.

Maybe v3 will allow vw and maybe a chance of subohm at least to .8 like the vtr. Only reason I haven't used my provari in 2 weeks cause I'm loving my .8ohm twisted 28

I've been using mine for the last couple days, because I've been trying a new build on my Kayfuns.

The ProVari is an excellent option. I just got mine Friday and I love it already. It's built like a tank. I've already dropped it on concrete and there isn't a scratch on it. Also, with the 18490 battery, it's just the right size. It's a reliable device that will be worth the investment.

As far as the SID, which I also own, I wouldn't recommend it. It's HUGE with the 18650 battery. The button became real finicky after about a month. If I didn't press it just right, it went into the menu instead of firing. The power also noticeably decreased as the battery went down. Needless to say, my experience with it was not the best. I would have saved money and a few headaches had I gone with the ProVari to start. It is a vv/vw device but having vw was not a selling point for me so I don't miss it.

Ultimately, the decision is yours so if you feel you want a device with vw, I would consider something other than the SID. If you can live without vw, I would definitely recommend a ProVari. JMHO.

Edit: I guess I should have read the comments before posting because I see you've already purchased one. Congrats and happy vaping!

You can't go wrong with a Prov.

Ive become a subohm vaper. Pretty much the day that I decided to put a dual coiled Igo-W on a Zenesis 510 tube, metered at .8ohm, i was hooked on the dense vape subohm provides. And naturally, with subohm, comes mechanicals. They became, for me, not just a vape device, but a collectable thing all on its own.

Mech mods and dripping atomizers have become the way I vape. .35ohm dual coil, with 28g and 3mm silica, is how I roll. Provides such a warm and dense, flavour dripping vape experience, that Ive nearly ruined myself on all the ways I used to vape.

    But.

I still keep my provari around. couple reasons:
-Its one of the very few VV devices which has the build quality of an original mechanical mod
-Its VV, which I preferred during my days of regulated vaping.
-It holds its value more than ANY other regulated device
-Along with the DNA equipped devices, the amount of battery regulation and safety the Provari provides is unmatched
-Its reliable, its warrantied, and its repairable for life
    -It does not break
-It looks as sleek as a mech once you get a 22mm topper and a pro ring
-It works when I need it to, everytime.

IP may have become a mech head who is obessed with the newest RDAs and dense vapes, but my provari stays in my collection. No ifs ands or buts about it.

I just ordered a mini in black/red. I run 2 MVP2's and a vv3 for work so I didn't need it, but I wanted something with changeable batteries should things get funky about buying regulated mods in the future. I was going to buy a ZNA for this purpose, but got tired of waiting on one to become available. I may get the extension cap at some point but not right now. I also have an Ibtanked carto tank ordered to match(same color scheme lol) to try out carto tanks. Seems I spent $300 this evening, but I have saved so much not buying cigs I don't even notice.

I will use the 2 MVP's while camping and touring on the bike as they are great devices and cheaply replaced, and they will need to be replaced eventually anyways.
