To speed steep or not to?

I use an ultrasonic cleaner and it certainly speeds up the process a LOT. things still settle out a bit and get a little better over the weeks following, but UC steeping seems to steep the equiv of 1 week (of standard stick it in the cabinet) per hour. If you get an ultrasonic cleaner, make sure it has a long timer on it. Most of the ones available have a 3 minute timer, which is 20 cycles to have to go back and set per hour. for the most part, the longer the timer, the better the motor, the more expensive it is. The "sweet spot" as far as balance of cost per cycle length seems to be around the 15 or 30 minute timer models. If cost is not an issue, there's some commercial grade ones that can go a full hour or longer.
