Hey guys,

So first off, I am a non smoker. Or at least for cigarettes, I can't stand the smell and there are just too many health risks. I do have the occasional cigar though, like a few a month. (though I don't inhale) I smoke cigars for the flavor and to me there's just something cool and mysterious about having smoke coming out of my mouth. I like to just sit outside occasionally and just relax and puff on a cigar. Now my question is kind of complicated. I am interested in electronic cigarettes because like I said, I like the 'feeling' of having smoke come out of my mouth. Now I know there's no definitive proof that e cigs are 100% safe but what if I buy an e cig and use mostly non nicotine cartridges with the occasional low nicotine cartridge? How likely is it that I'll get addicted to the nicotine and are there any other health risks associated with e cigs? Everything I've read just says there's no real data. I plan to use it not all that often, like if I were smoking analog smokes, something like 1-2 smokes a day. It would just be something to do when I'm just kinda sitting around. I wouldn't be vaping just to get nicotine. And lastly, I know this is an electronic cigarette forum, but does anyone know anything about herbal cigarettes? Any help and any answers you guys can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

Research at this point indicates that vaping should be safer than even an occasional cigar. Keep in mind, however, that you will probably find yourself vaping more than you were smoking cigars, just because it is easier - no smell, ashtrays, having to smoke the whole cigar, etc. I would also recommend 0 NIC. Even though you could probably use low nic with no significant increase in nicotine dependency, be aware that the nic in vapor is largely taken in through the mucus membranes in your mouth, so you may be getting a higher level than smoking cigars and not inhaling.

Awesome guys, thanks for all the replies. And just to clarify, I don't smoke the big, fat cigars. Just the littler cigarillos, which are about the same size as a normal cigarette. And I mostly smoke Swisher Sweets, the flavored ones (grape, strawberry, etc) which is another reason why vaping is interesting me, just all the different flavor options. Now I have another question. I was thinking about buying a blu disposable just because I can get it at a Walgreens a few blocks away. But also because I wanted to try vaping before actually committing to it. The only thing is that the blu disposables do contain a good amount of nicotine. They say the cartridge lasts about 400 puffs and has 24mg of nicotine. That's what has been stopping me from running over and buying it. My question is if I were to buy one, would I be able to puff a few times a day and not become dependent on nicotine? I'm sure most of you will say forget it, don't buy it.

If you must vape, don't buy a blu. It would just be more hassle than it is worth. Espeically if you're looking to vape 0 nic juice, which you should.

An easier solution for you would be to get something like a 510 with a drip tip. Then you can just drip a few drops of 0 nic juice and vape a little.

I wouldn't normally recommend a 510 to anyone anymore except that you will probably vape so little the battery life won't be an issue.

if you buy juice with nicotine, and inhale it, you will be addicting yourself to nicotine. E-Cigarettes are just too yummy to be able to have one puff a month the way you do with cigars.

If you start vaporising e-juice containing nicotine, you are doing to be addicting yourself to a dangerous drug. As a non-smoker, you could cause yourself real harm, maybe even hospitalise yourself. Don't do it.

The packaging reads "only to be used by dedicated smokers. This is not a joke, its for your own protection. Remember: always read the label :)

If there's one moment I could change in my life it would be when I took the first drag off of a cigarette... then another. The nic gets a death grip on you that is said to be worse than heroine to quit. I haven't taken heroine but I believe it to be true. Nic can turn an otherwise rational, bright, caring individual into a raging maniac for a nic fix. You don't want to go there, I promise.

Case in point: I was on day 2 of a cold-turkey cigarette quit. All cigarettes and supplies were thrown away. I was outside doing dog poo pickup that morning and there was a .... that had at least a 4-drag value. It was under the poo. Must have blown out of my ashtray. I obssessed over the poo-laden .... for hours. Looking outside, staring at it, mouth watering. When I decide I would smoke the poo ...., I got in the car and raced to the store for a pack of Virginia Slims.

If you do not smoke I would recommend ordering a cheap kit with an atty and purchasing some 0mg nic juice..
I use vaping as a safer way to get my nic
IMHO vamping becomes more of a hobby then anything

I love to Vape!

blu is a waste...I bought a kit and used for a few hours and it is now sitting on my shelf and I will never touch it again...
Volcanoecigs has a good option...the magma...it works great if you get the attys you can get some juice and tape away

I agree if you don't smoke you should tape..but if you must you need to get some 0nic juice and since you don't smoke you probably won't mind a 0 TH... so...0nic will be fine.. the less nic the less TH (throat hit)

Just don't do either. Don't start vaping, and you can toss the Swisher Sweets out of your life too. No point in creating another nicotine related habit, even if you use 0 nic, we don't know what the flavorings, VG, PG, sweeteners, or anything else added are doing to our bodies when we inhale.

Keep your lungs clean as you can and you will not have the worries and horrible (painful) body issues most of us long time smokers have.
