Screw holes "incorrect" in the Acerig? I didn't notice any issues other than a bit of flash in the holes that was easily removed... and the usual crap screws of course. ;-)

I've handled/inspected the "sterile" Acerig version (to remove flash for owner), and I thought it was a better finished piece than the Tobeco (although I didn't have them side by side, I'm afraid).
The Chinese don't often mention small changes in production runs, so who's to say if the Acerig I looked at was exactly as the one you're referring to.

Maybe if Aethertech would settle on a version - for example, the V1.2 is no longer gold plated - cloners could settle on a happy forgery. I sold my authentic V1 the day after I got it... and gave away my Tobeco copy - neither suited my needs.

Yeah most folks complained of the screws not fitting correctly, not trapping the leads effectively. Acer acknowledged the issue and sent replacement screws to some vendors. I appreciate the info, guys. I think I might skip this clone for now. Wait for more reviews of the acer versions, tobeco, and the myriad of FT variants.

You know me, Kemo... I'm so happy with the Origen and Veritas that until I see another deep well dripper, I'm not buying anything. ;-)

I ordered a replacement one. The one I received initially came with a spinning positive post :(

the positive post is supposed to rotate for "variety of builds"

havent heard much of a plume veil clone from any manufacturer besides acerig. but i know acerig said the screw problem would be fixed on the 1.5

How are you supposed to tighten the positive post?

Edit: Nevermind, I just held it still and built it. Looks like this may work out after all.

Thanks for the tip!

For those that have the Tobeco clone, can you please post a pic of the 510 pin? Mine seems pretty sunk in.

same here. those are my two faves right now too. the acercig plume v1.5 will have a deeper well so i'll wait to see that before considering a v1. if the 1.5 isnt all that deep, my next plan of action woudl be to nix the veil idea and scoop a magma. thanks for your insight. i ought to be content with my origin and veritas clones. which i am. but this vape fever is hard to kick lol!

wow thats mega sunk in. does it even make contact? how about trying to adjust the screw down, no dice?

Well, after tinkering with it for a little, after I build it out, I have to push the positive post down so it'll make contact. On a mech mod it's okay but when I put it on my ipv2 it will read it at .5 - 1ohms depending on how it's sitting so I have to always look at the ohm reading before taking a puff.

gotcha. glad that it works for ya but dang that seems like a mfg flaw and should be replaced or something imo.

I received a RMA and return label from 101vape where I bought it from but I thought maybe it was supposed to be like that. I may return it after all when my other one arrives. I can say though, this thing is awesome for flavor. I think it beats the flavor on my Origen V2/V1 and Magma. Build I have been using is .40-.50 at about 4.0 volts.

welp, your post has me once again considering it. lol i cant decide. the flavor thing is really getting me!
but yeah, 101vape is good people. i bet he'll make it right if necessary.

I purchased a tobeco plume veil clone from my local B&M. I have issues with ordering online and was waiting for weeks for them to acquire these bad boys. They literally arrived while I was on my way out from picking up a house juice before work and snatched one up right away, with no tinker time I decided to just swap my build from my igo-w to the veil, I had none of my building gear on me but was excited it came with a screwdriver so I could do the swap, YAY!!! ...

Screwdriver didn't fit the screws, subjectable con...

made it work anyway upon installing second coil, realized, one of my negative posts were not drilled out.

got home drilled out negative post made fresh build, fell in love

My Tobeco PV clone came in today. Initial thought is that it's cheaply made. The barrel doesn't sit flush with the bottom of the deck...if it did, the negative post airflow holes don't line up. The screwdriver didn't fit, but I have yet to buy a clone where the screwdriver does fit properly...luckily I have my electronics tool kit nearby, and that it had the proper screwdriver in it.

First build was a .5 ohm, 28ga dual coil operated on my Cana. It was meh, to say the least. The delrin piece in the cap can't be screwed down far or it hits the coils. You don't want to inhale delrin vape...yuck.

Second build was a .3 ohm, 26ga dual parallel coils. The Cana didn't provide enough power, but the Stingray was able to bring the PV to life! Holy crap, this thing chucks the vape!! And the additional airflow really helps it out.

I wish they made a 28mm version of this so I could put it on my Tobeco Copper Mutant clone. I also wish it had a deeper juice well...even my Patriot is deeper. I'm having to add juice quite often due to the low capacity of the PV.

Overall...it's not the worst I've seen, but it's not good enough to truly make me happy.

This will be used for a week or so and then placed in the PIF box to be given out when I go to Vape GTGs.

My opinion...save your money for something else. The Tobeco version isn't what it should be.

I've had a tobeco PV for a little over a week now. No problems at all. Sits flush, fits well, and I am perfectly content with it. I just can't settle on what build i like best in it...

So far, the build I like best is the 26ga, dual parallel build to 0.32 ohm. It's not too hot, not to cool, and produces an insane amount of vape and flavor. YMMV...
