Excellent Todd, glad to have you (and by proxy them) here! I'll keep it simple and biased ;-)

Get them EGO Twists with 2.4-2.8ohm clearomizers (stardust/vision) and some 24mg nic juice (and a backup of 16mg, even some long term smokers end up being suprisingly intolerant to high doses of nic). Load up the clearo's, set em on 4.8v, and kiss the analog's goodbye! If, on the off chance that doesn't do the trick, then you'll need to break out the big guns and get them something that will go to 6v and then have them use DCT tanks. There's a lot more cost in this though and the tanks take some maintenance vs. the clearo's so that's why I always say start with the twist. If you end up having to go the latter route then the Twists will still make great backup devices. Low end it's hard to beat the EGO's (as I'm discovering in another thread). High end (prior to going radical) it seems hard to beat the Provari but it's spendy and there are a lot of other good options in that arena.

Good luck man!

This is going to vary an awful lot with different people and the things that 'serious' vapers think are important are sometimes not a consideration for the 'senior' potential convert.

Both of my parents have been smoking cigarettes for 50+ years and are, ahem, a bit set in their ways. I probably will be too at their age. However, I have managed to get both of them to at least partially convert to e-cigs. So they are buying less tobacco and inhaling less smoke - if that's as good as it gets I can live with that.

My Mum refuses to use anything apart from mini 510s. They have to look like a cigarette. The battery has to be white and the cartomizer has to be brown. The light on the end has to be orange. Anything else makes her uncomfortable. I tried to interest her in a Titan-type 510 battery to give her a bit longer between charges but she won't have anything to do with it. Because it is the wrong colour. It's not a big problem because she has four batteries in circulation and she doesn't hit them that hard. Occasionally I get her a new battery and she tells me when she needs another strip of pre-filled cartos (she makes those last absolutely ages too).

My Dad had slightly different requirements. He was using the mini 510s but he was puffing away and killing the batteries. But nothing with a decent sized battery was acceptable - even an Ego is way too big. he likes to be able to hold the thing in his mouth and keep his hands free. He doesn't like the feel of round cartos or most drip-tips. For him, these things work better with a slim, flat mouthpiece. The answer for him turned out to be a couple of SD Keyring batteries and a small supply of Bud tank atomizers. He's happy as Larry with this setup and I just have to order him a new bottle of e-liquid every now and then (fussy about that too - it has to be the same stuff he's had before).
All totally irrational of course and flies in the face of a lot of the advice you will see on here and other forums. But what is rational about smoking/vaping anyway?

Anyway, they are both happy now. Saving a bit of money and doing a bit less harm to themselves so I reckon job done.
