I would love to, but I am a new myself. I have experience with kangers only. But the basic principle is this; coils/wick get a buildup of gunk, that insulate the coil (in relation to heat)

Depending on the wick medium, silica is stock, and cotton is diy. ( there are others, ss, and I believe ceramic). People dry burn silica wick at the same time as the coil, because it doesn't burn, to dry burn a cotton wicked setup the cotton must be removed before dry burning, and replaced. IMO I dry burned a stock silica wick, and it was nasty. I use cotton.

So dry burning is slowly heating up the coil, by pulsing it to a red hot state (to avoid coil failure and gromet/o-ring failure). You want the tank off to do this (which is where the dry comes from)

You start at a low volt/watt setting, and increase as needed. You will notice a visual difference in the coil once it has been dry burned properly, it should look new.

And I guess, don't forget to rinse the head, and let it dry first (some people dry burn to dry burn, if that makes sense :))

There should be some good threads here with more experienced members on this, you can google it.

You can always just replace the entire Atty, many people do.

If your topper is working on one battery but not on another, dry burning will do nothing to solve the mystery.

Personally, I am not a huge fan of dry burning. In my experience, it has been hit and miss and you can under-do it and accomplish nothing or over-do it and mess something up.

Go visit the guys at Vapor Escence (south of Houston) next weekend, there are many experts that hang out there everyday that would be willing to help in person. The owner is always there and is more than willing to sit down and work with anyone.
I'll check them out one weekend, I'm always looking for a personable vape shop. Some of the ones I went into are either clueless or look at you like your an idiot if you ask a question. The biggest problem so far has been at VTC. You call, some clueless girl answers, then you spend an hour trying to get a question answered because the entire phone call consists of you asking her, she asks someone else then vice versa if they have an answer. Unfortunately I live a hour+ north of Houston so the southside would be a long drive. Besides next weekend is the Houston BBQ cook off....can't pass up all the free beer and BBQ I can handle!! :toast:

Would going to a lower ohm coil or a dual coil help? Could too much air flow be a problem?? It's pulling air in between the mod and ext tube plus between the ext tube and the tank.

You could try it because apparently, people are stumped here. I have some 1.8 ohms that I bought but haven't used. Too much air flow could be a difference. If you want to test it, find the little air holes at the base of the topper and put your finger over one of them.

I personally use an Aerotank base on my PTII and pretty much close it off. It gives me a better "drag" because I used to smoke Marlboro Reds and it isn't the nic I am chasing but a similar drag. Before this, I would always plug an air hole somewhere. How it sits on the battery can make a difference if you are getting more air on one than the other.

A quick point though.......the air flow vents air to your battery....plugging it will make your battery warmer to the touch and too much will give you a burnt hit.

I pulled the ext tube off and put the tank right on the mod, it seems to have made some difference. Still not the kick I'm used to, but it's getting closer. :vapor:
