I simply went through all 220 or whatever pics there, and picked out the ones that caught my eye..

I too am expecting to get my black mini looking weathered - it WAS perfect, but now that it's got a couple little scratches (caused, ironically, by putting it into a stiff leather sleeve), it's gonna become the one that takes the risky road trips.

Anybody know where to get the base in #4, or what it's called?

If you look closely the picture it might just be a base/stand the ProVari is sitting on. It doesn't seem very practical to have a screw on base that large.

ETA: Oops! I thought you meant the wide part, not the bottom cap.

I don't know who any of these characters are. I have been out of step with popular culture for a very long time. I saw the first Star Wars movie in a almost empty theater in Peoria, Il, since no one had heard of it yet. I haven't seen any of the others. I only know a few of the later characters due to reading about them.
