I ordered a bottle of fried apples 24mg when i got it i loaded up a carto took a nice slow long drag and proceeded to cough my lungs up due to the harshness. Well today i got a bottle of caramel cream as gift from madvapes (thank you by the way) but it has the same harshness is it the 24mg that's causing this cause i usually vape 18mg. Just wondering if i cut it if that awful throat hit would go away.


Oh and so people dont take this wrong the flavors are spot on i just cant take the harshness.

it could be the mg. the higher the nic the better the throat hit in my book. also the higher the mg combined with high voltage makes for one big cough fest for me.

Could be the mg. higher mg can be a bit harsher even with 3.7v. I really don't like vaping over 16-18 on 3.7 volts not only because of harshness, but I get light headed.

And anything 5v+ I usually vape 12mg or less.

Edit: I missed the carto part! I drip, so maybe someone who uses them can chime in.

I have noticed that people who say they don't like the big throat hit are usually doing a direct inhale instead of a mouth inhale (suck like a straw, then inhale). If you are doing a direct inhale, then I think the higher mg could play a big part in that. I have always done the mouth inhale and never coughed.

nope this is a mouth inhale.......ive actually had about 5 other people try it and it kills their throat as well

I like mouth inhale smoother drag.

Only time my juice is harsh when I take a drag after not vaping for few days doesnt matter what brand or strength etc.

To fix this everytime I go to use my kit on a new day I first rinse/dry the cart sponge with water. Next I use a tissue to blot the old atty juice out. Then fresh drip on atty and in the cart sponge.

Even after all the cleaning the first 2-3 puffs are harsh I just puff and blow out not inhale for those first drags then its nice and smooth for me.

Edit: OK I never thought of a direct inhale so I just tried it geez that rips my throat a new one I cant handle that method at all HEHE. Kinda reminds me of smoking a roach back in the 80's in high school LOL.

Have you tried it on a different carto or atomizer? Just to be sure that particular carto isn't harboring some nasty harsh. I've used those at 6 volts with an 808 carto and 510 atty and found them to be quite smooth.

I always mouth inhale, it more or less boils down to personal preference I think for TH. Like 801 attys, I hate them. They feel like trying I'm trying to suck a frosty thru a straw. But then, there are people who hate the 510s.

And the first time I tried an LR and also a 5v vape, I was like OMG What have I been missing? But at the same time it my throat 3 days to agree with me.

LOL, I just looked at your post Criptix!!! You used to smoke Kools? My dad smoked them, now to me those are harsh But then again, I'm not a menthol kinda girl

And when ever I did it was an extremely light wimpy kind

Such a tough call with e-liquid.. We actually shoot for a good TH by adding a little PG if the hit is light.. Wish I had some advice other than maybe dilute with a little vg to drop the hit down a bit..

I'm sorry you are experiencing harsh criptix. I think diluting it is a good suggestion.


It's interesting how everyone is different.


The only time I experience harsh is with the non tobacco flavorings ( mainly red colors )in dekang brands. (from other vendors. Not their fault though)

I am just remembering,I didn't get that harshness from the Vanutla. It had a slight red tint. It was wonderful and didn't bother me at all but then it isn't dekang.

The top vapor brand is my favorite brand ever. I'm liking the natural flavorings. The bauway marlboro is really good too.

I love the Fried Apple and the RY4 from Madvapes, but the nic level at 24mg kills me. Before the bottle crisis, I was able to buy a 30ml bottle of 0mg of the Fried Apple and then mix each half and half to get the nic down to 12mg. That took care of the harshness for me. The 50/50 split of Fried Apple and RY4 also gave me a great Apple/Tobacco e-juice.

I agree with the fried apple I vap it on a 3.7 510 atty it is really harsh, for me.. I usually vape 36mg anything else.. Like the above post stated the flavor is spot on I think its the cinnamon errr something... I only vape it once in a while. But love it wish i could vape it more but its harsh.

Gonna check out wally world tomorrow for some vg. I think the stuff I bought will be too strong for me since i don't smoke that much already.
