Toptank and crown rba's

I have the evic mini w crown tank as was as the kanger topbox kit, every suggested that I build my own atty, I gave it a shot on my kanger even though I like the joyetech way better. For some reason the rba would not work in tc mode, is this normal. I used the coil that came with it. Wicked it as to instructions. Works fine in wattage mode and I can see the flavor difference but in tc the wattage shoots up and kills te power sometimes it reads a low temp like 50 degrees but the vapor is insane hot coming out. Going to try the crown next time around. Same issues I was having with the new ssocc coils not reading the ohms right. Also it was reading .33ohms on the rba. Any guidance is appreciated.

The RBA needs to have the right kind of wire in it for a matching TC mode.
NI200 wire for NI TC mode, Stainless wire for SS TC mode, etc.
also you cannot run NI or TI coils in Wattage mode. Bad things are likely to happen.

I was under the impression that it came with a Ss wire. Also I kept the voltage under 20w in vw. I tried ss and nc for temp mode for a second or two. Neither worked out.

Erg the website doesn't state it but I thought I saw Ss prebuilt coils for sale. Anyway I found a few posts trying to figure out what it is and the consensus is kanthal. Should explain it..

Usually RBA's come with Kanthal wire in them.
All my Kanger STM's RBA's came with Kanthal coils mounted in them.
Unless they say differently the SSOCC coils are stainless bodys but the wire is likely kanthal.
TC coils will typically be marked as SS, NI or TI.

Yep you can put SS coils in the RBA and use TC if the mod supports SS TC mode.

Well this kinda excited me, I'm going to try and build one for my crown seeing I like that setup better. The vapor fits my personal preference better, but the strawberry in my strawberry donuts stands out through the rba on my toptank. I found some ss316 notch coils prebuilt, .2ohms. Would this be a good place to start for temp control?

Nope would not recommend the Notch coils even for a experienced builder.
Just get some SS 316L 26 ga wire and wind your own About 6 wraps or so around a 2.5 - 3mm screwdriver.
Or you can find SS prebuilt coils.
Avoid the notch coils.

Ok will do. How come rba's give better flavor.. I have a hard time believing me the people at kanger or crown can't build a better coil than the first one I whipped together...

Kanger coils are not known for their flavor. Don't know about crown coils.
