I don't know about spitting, but the flavor was just overwhelming... I think that was the main reason to keep it aside for now. Airflow was a bit high for me, but it was the flavor which was too much. Could be because I am using nichrome for the first time?

Hmm, sounds like you should try the 1.5 coil. It would give you some vapor at lower wattage. The flavor is sort of intense on this tank, even with that coil, but I love it for that reason. Coming from the Cubis, I could totally see it being too much, since the Cubis is um...at the other end of the flavor spectrum. *no flavor cough* ;)

But it's all about preference, so stick with what's working for you. If you do want to try a 1.5 coil to salvage the tank, I think myvaporstore sells them individually, so you don't have to try a 5pack.

Thanks for the answers guys. I got it to work, but had to dial it down to around 10W to make it usable for me. And then there is barely any vapor. I am using 75/25 VG juice and the taste is just a bit too much for me. This is for someone coming from a cubis, so forgive me if it sounds odd.

The taste is just overpowering as of now. For the time being I have gone back to the cubis and given the toptank a nice wash and left it to dry.

You mean 75% PG and 25% VG right , because PG is usually the first one listed and then VG so if thats the case it makes sense there wasn't much vapor produced.

Little confused by your comment " the juice and taste was too much for me " , is that a good thing or a bad thing , i wish all my juice had over the top flavor lol.

Nope I mean 75 VG. I have got the tank to work with one of the 1.2 ohm coils as well as an RBA that I built for the first time. But again, it seems a little difficult for me. The flavor just hits me like a truck... Don't know what else to say. This is on 6 MG nic. Anyway I am going to clean it up and keep it away for a while, maybe I will come back to it later..

Also I prefer a cool vape, but this is warm to hot, even below 15 watts

How awful , i hate when my juice has that type of flavor , much prefer juice that i can barely make out if it even contains flavor .

Good natured sarcasm only

I agree 100% on the overly warm vapes , i do not like that either , i also prefer a neutral or cooler vape .

I think you may be a little out of date with the VG/PG thing as pretty well everywhere nowadays lists VG first. In fact I see mainly just the VG content listed from many places such as "75% VG" and so forth.

Unless it changed recently it was always the other way . Yup it seems it was always PG first but recently some vendors have changed it .

You are absolutely right, Cig. There is a convention that pg is always listed first, but not all vendors and posters are familiar with that convention.

Well update time. Finally got the 1.2 coil to work decently well for me. I have to stay in the 10-12.5 watt range using the smallest hole to keep things good. I tried a different flavor as well. So I don't know if it was that flavor of just things settling down.

Used the RBA head as well, but I guess I will have to work a bit more on my wicking.

It has changed to cater to the "clouds bro" crowd who look for the bigger clouds which high VG gives them. It's also less harsh which is why I like generally a 75% VG mix.

Well, I am loving the Toptank Mini on the new SSOCC 1.2 ohm coil….the flavour is just incredible with the Blacknote juices. I run a mixture of 70% Prelude and 30% Solo…best of both words.

12 Watts is my sweet spot and Ive only taken it up to 14.5 before it turns harsh as I use 12mg mic.

Had some spit back issues since I might have gotten some liquid into the chimney after I changed a coil and then decided to fill it from below…that chimney seems quite short so easy to overfill. From now on I will unscrew the bottom only to change coils but fill from above. Is there any max level you can fill this tank to?

And if someone has seen a video on how to dis-assemble and clean it that would be much appreciated.

OK, I got the TopTank Mini, which came with 3 coils: SS (pink ring) with cotton installed, Ni200 (blue ring) with cotton installed, and an RBA with pre-wound coil but no cotton.

The Ni200 was already installed in the TopTank, so I primed the coil and put it on a new iStick Pico. The coil reading was 0.25 ohms. I set TC at 600F. This is my first experience with TC. I thought with TC you didn't concern yourself with wattage, but the Pico instructions say you can adjust wattage in TC mode. Not knowing if you should adjust it or what effect adjusting might have, and not knowing where to start, I set it at 22.5W.

My first attempt to fire up this thing produced a loud pop and a little shot of hot juice into my mouth. I was able to continue vaping without further incident, but then I set the thing down for about 5 minutes. When I fired it again, I again got the loud pop and hot juice in my mouth. So now, after it's been sitting for awhile. I hold it at arms length and fire it. It still pops loudly, but at least I don't get the hot juice effect. When it's not popping on me, it seems to work OK.
Obviously, I'm doing something wrong. Any ideas?

So your first experience with TC is to crank it as it as high as it goes on the first attempt? Turn that thing down.

I find about 450 degrees at about 25-30 watts to be the sweet spot.

LOL. I misread the Pico instructions. So now, having dialed it down to 450, it still pops like a little firecracker.

Is the Pico in Ni TC mode? I believe it has SS, Ti, and Ni modes for TC.
Yes, set on Ni and TC. I switched yesterday to the SS coil and it's OK, but produces an overly intense and concentrated MTL hit for me. I keep fiddling with the air flow but can't seem to smooth it out. Maybe my juice is too concentrated for this device.

for the spitting... after you fill to the bottom of the visible edge, or from unscrewing the bottom.. a q-tip will fit all the way down and clear up any excess... learned this really quick with my first clumsy fills and burning out a coil.

the cracking is supposed to be"normal", but, my hubby wasn't shaking his juice *snickers after typing that* before filling so was either getting it too thick or thin *laughs outright*. so i think, yeah yours might be a bit thick....sorry... *snorts and snickers some more*.

i have had the spitting, but not the cracking, and we are using the same juices.
