Personally I dont see why some people make such a big deal out of switching batteries.
I have a SS mini from Apollo and love it. Obviously the regular lavatube has good battery life, but its also big. My friend has a regular size V-tube that Ive used, and I like the mini a lot better. The regular one really isnt pocketable bc of its size which makes it a pain to take with you when your out. My friend ended up buying another PV to use just when hes out bc the reg lavatube was annoying to carry.
Obviously everyones different, but for me, I dont see the point of getting a regular size one bc its so hard to carry around. What good is it to have really good battery life for a PV that rarely leaves the house? For me, the extra battery life of the reg would be a plus when Im out all day at work, but if I always end up leaving it at home bc its too big to carry at work, then the extra battery life isnt really helping me that much since I have tons of spare batteries at home that I could pop in if needed.
Yeah with the regular lavatube you dont have to change batteries as often, but come on, its not like its really that hard to take 5 seconds and switch batteries.
The mini is much more pocketable and I easily carry mine with me daily. The 18350 batteries are small too so its easy to carry an extra in your back pocket or car. I vape through out the day while Im working and normally only need to change the battery once.
Before I got my SS mini I also used an E-Power. I wanted something similar in size to the E-Power bc I liked that I could carry my E-Power with me everywhere, and thats why I got the mini and not the reg size. I have no problem sacrificing some battery life and having to change them more often to have a PV that I can actually carry in my pocket. But again, everyones different.
You really just need to think about what you want and weigh the options. If your planning on using the lavatube as an at home PV, then the regular one is nice since the battery life is longer and the bigger size wont really matter. If your planning on taking it out a lot though, then you might like the mini better bc its a lot more portable and much easier to carry in your pocket.
Heres a picture so you can see a size comparison.
The first picture is my SS mini V-tube and I use a Smoktech mini 4.5ml tank on it. I really like the 4.5ml tank and it looks nice on a mini V-tube. Its the same diameter as the Smoktech 6ml DCT, but is shorter and uses regular size cartos. I use 3.0ohm Boges in mine.
The second picture is the SS mini next to one of my E-Powers. The E-Power has a Smoktech 3.5ml DCT on it.
The SS mini is fatter than the E-power, but is actually shorter with the mini Smoktech tank. With a regular Smoktech DCT, their about the same length. Regardless of what you use on it, the mini V-tube can still be carried in a pocket fairly easily.
Hope this helps!
