It was my first order with TW. I never have earlier just because I never appreciated their pricing. But when I got my Tornado, and noticed the issue with the cone, I gave them a call. Tiffany answered right away, and almost caught me off-guard. I definitely was not expecting a human to answer the phone. She was very polite, and forwarded the issue up the ladder.

I have read some dis-heartening things about TW, but so far, i'm very pleased. I may just continue to do business with them after all.

Thanks again!

Meh, I just cut about a 1/8" off of one of my cones (it too was slightly off) with a dremel so it doesn't rub the atty anymore. The bonus to that: now it fits nicely over carto's with no rubbing and allows the airflow the carto's need. That only seemed to be a problem with colored carto's, the stainless steel ones fit fine.

ok cool, thanks for the reply! I wish there was a case for it like there is for my 808. I feel so sophisticated carrying around a cigarette case.

Hey a fellow San Diegan (or the county at least). I have heard that a cigar tube would work to hold the Tornado. I have one on the way and was also looking for something to put it in. I hope to not have the same issues with the cone threads. I order the parts separetely (not the kit) and ordered the mega atties and carts. They should stick up about a half inch more.

Just got my Tornado a couple of days ago and like it very much but I am afraid to carry it around with me in my pocket...Has anyone ever had it go off in their pocket or am i just being a puss?

I have been packing my eGo, which is the authentic Janty version in my pocket for over a month and have not had a single issue that I can tell with it going off in my pocket, I guess if you have allot of things in your pocket there could be a issue, but I only pack my eGo and iPhone in that pocket, so I have never had any issues.

If you're not trying to thread the cone on with the cart attached, I can't see how there could be a problem. With the cart attached, there is likely going to be a problem. Super easy to avoid.

Hmmm,...the mega atties are longer and will stick up above the cone hole (I think) it might not be a prob  but if it is, maybe I could mod the cone some. I have been thinking about the cartomizers and how that would work.

The Tornado should work just fine with the mega attys. I tried a cartomizer on mine and it didn't work very well. The cone was a tight fit and there was little to no air flow. Worked great without the cone though. :)

Sadly, as of right now we have had 4 of our 9 Tornado batteries fail.

Luckily I have the ability to repair them, and I have brought 2 back to life. I'm thinking that when I go into the other 2 (that are still dead) I will install some "protection" so they won't fail in this way again.

Hi Scottb. What was the nature of the failures? After what time span? I have read of some battery issues and (crossing my fingers) I am hoping the units I will be getting are okay. I did buy individual batts (warranteed) for this reason.

Your technical expertise is appreciated. :)

I made mention of this over on the Janty forum.

Bottom line, the TorneGo batteries don't have any real form of short circuit (or very low resistance) protection. If a cartomizer or atomizer develops a short.. or if its resistance drops below about .7Ω... that battery will usually become "damaged".

The failure mode that I have seen is EITHER:

1) The battery will no longer deliver power.. even though the button LED may illuminate.

2) The battery will "latch on".. meaning that it will deliver power to the atty or cartomizer even though the button isn't pressed and the LED is off.

Either way.... the battery has become an anchor for a very small boat.

(Please do not dispose of your battery in water.. do not use it as an anchor... your mileage may vary)

Thanks, I will make use of my meter to check the ohm-age of the atties periodically. It's how I tell if they're cold or possibly resuscitate-able. I have had good luck by not overusing any one attie. I rotate my atty/cart/flavor combos. I rotate 7 e-cigs now. The Tornado will just be one more that doesn't have to be recharged as often. I just hope it lasts better.

Gotta' go check to see if my Tornado is in the mailbox!:D

Dumb question but the quote makes me ask....do you work for TW?
