Hi softpiano.
If you want to continue the dripping experience, the ScrewDriver would be a good choice, IMO.
You will get "true" 3.7V. Tornado batteries are declared as 3.7V, but when in use they will put out less (3.2V-3.4V). I cannot gurantee fully - but I'd be surprised if you could not get a 5V battery that will match the housing, as well. Check out DealExtreme (Chinese site). They also have this : QuitSmoking. Use only protected batteris, btw. The battery cost will eventually be lower than if you have to get the "designated system" batteries.

The tank is a fine system, using it myself. The downside is that is doesn't seem to fit the ScrewDriwer - or it will at least need to have a 510->510 adapter (to prolong the fitting point to battery) since the tank atomizer is with a cone in the bottom that makes the thread to the battery to sit 5-7 mm "below surface". Hope that this makes sense... :) Look at some pictures of a Tank atty (and XL-atty's as well) to see how the threading in inside the atty house...

Why not try both :p If you have already a Tornado(/eGo/Riva/Inferno) battery, you only need a tank Atomizer and some carts to get you going.

Final comment: If you're looking at the ScrewDriver, and is well up the learning curve, you might want to look at other MOD types before you make a choice. Check out here.

Hope that this was of help to you. Good luck. :vapor:

There is really no comparisons between the two they are very different
SDMKll is a true 3.7 volt device you can safely use LR atty's on, it’s a 901 connector. The 18350 provide great battery life and replacements cost around $6.00. They are all mechanical so no wires or switchs to go bad. I use my SD for only driping.

The Tornado is a high production model with a 510 connection, and I'm sure it's not rated for use with LR attys.

I'll add that I do have a SD they are a good solid PV, I dont own a Tornado nor do I plan on it

Hello softpiano.
There ARE ways to connect a Tank atty with a mod. This thread deals with the subject. In fact I'm using the converter mentioned - part of the Tornado kit .

To your other questions.... It is a matter of TH, taste and vapor production. What do you prefer? IMO there's one best way: To try it out. Regarding both the brand issue and which resistance in the atty. Lot's of recommendations e.t.c. in this forum already.

It's all a matter of electrical laws. Put simple, your atty will produce the most watts possible out of the volts you feed and it's own internal resistance (and the stamina (Amp)) of the battery).

Happy vaping :vapor:

I would research a bit more, there are definately much cheaper options out there.

I have both of the units, as TW was my first source. Tornado is an overpriced Ego unit available in about 1000 different websites.

The screwdriver was my first mod. Was nice until the button unscrewed itself and the unit stayed on in my pocket. Only way to turn it off was to unscrew the battery housing. You have to put loctite on the button or it will fall off and autofire.
Again, I payed waaaay too much.

I never did recieve my adapter that was supposed to ship with the kit to go from 901-510. Had to buy that from another site.

Research my friend, research.

What's the difference between LR attys and standart attys btw?

And are 901attys better than 510? Or are they the same only in other form? :)

Give the link below a read. It will explain LR and HV atomizers and how they change the way you can vape. I highly recommend learning about them if you're looking at a mod, especially a variable volt mod. It will make your experience much, much more satisfying!

What Are These LR and HV Attys?
