My mom which is 67 years old tried vapor 4-5 years ago and they bought cheap crappy ones. stopped using them after a few months.

I want to buy her a new one so she can get away from the cigarette smoke.

What is the best flavor and easiest to use for older people? Which e cigarette to buy? not worried about cost too much.

was reading thru the forums, how often do you have to replace these coils? and are they easy to replace?

much appreciated

Hi smooth2222.

I don't use Pre-Made Coils. I like to build my own. But I'll Bump your thread for some Recommendation.

BTW - You're a Good Man to want to get your Mom off Cigarettes.

Hello and welcome to ecf.

If you can tell us a bit about your mom's smoking habit it will help to narrow down your search. What did she try before? Do you know if she went with cig-tasting types of ejuice or other ones?
How long has she smoked and what kind and strength?

:)

Well from my experience, it depends which liquid she will use, the process is easy enough, just unscrew the coil, and screw a new one in, i replaced the coil every time it clogged up, i would get her something like an Innokin itaste SVD 2, has variable wattage, if you're in europe, i can send you an aspire nautilus mini.... and some coils, then all you need to do is buy her the mod (innokin itaste svd 2) ill have a look around see if theres anything else that would be suitable for her,

Just like most things there is a small learning curve to vaping.

Replacing the head in a replaceable head clearo is simple, unscrew old one, prime new one with several drops, thread into base, fill tank, vape.
The heads last between 10 ml ~ 300 ml, depending on all sorts of factors.

There is no best or most common flavor, flavor is an individual preference.

As much as I dislike saying it, vaping is not magic, for many it still takes good deal of will power & a desire to quit smoking to be successful.
A person has to be open to fiddling & fitzing around with different equipment & flavors to find what they like best / what works best for them.

Might be easiest to ask her what she didn't like and or what caused her to stop using the old set up.

The Innokin SVD2 is a high quality mod, but the Provari 2.5 Specials are prolly a touch cheaper. Both have very good long term reputations and are very simple once initially set. As to a topper with factory coils, The Nautilus is upper end and been around for a long time. All three have been selling for a good long time.

Flavor is very dependent on the vaper's taste buds...and they can change throughout the day. I run a lot of toppers and have a different flavor in each.

On a side note, I bet it would help her if you stopped by and checked on her toppers, any juice needed, etc. I would do that for any of my friends/relatives to help get them settled.

No matter what, I hope you and her are successful. Service is a gift.

My wife and I are both 60-something. Been vaping for 4 1/2 years.

That beginning device and liquid can be intimidating. We both comfortably use bigger box mods today, I'm not so sure that we could have used those in the beginning. I suspect that would have still wanted more of a cigarette experience back then.

If you have a vape shop nearby, perhaps you could take her and let her fondle some different things to get a feel for what she would like. Something like a Joyetech ego AIO or Innokin T18 might be a cheap way to get started and work similar to a cigarette. E-liquid flavors and strength are going to be the biggest challenge.

So which of these 3 would you all recommend? or any other Ego that you would recommend.

In all honesty, the newer stuff is easier to get on with in regards to filling and charging.
I wouldn't necessarily recommend an eGo kit with products like the Joyetech AIO on the market.
There are two types of charging system currently popular. The eGo version has to be more fiddly and less reliable than the new USB ones.
In fact, avoiding those old 510 chargers is an absolute must i.m.o.

This sort of thing is better, easier and cheaper, as far as I can advise.

Ok was reading thru the article Baditude posted. Looks like a EGO would be simpler for an old lady. lol Article suggested these 3

Vision eGo Spinner, Joyetech eGo Twist, or Kanger Evod

So which of these 3 would you all recommend? or any other Ego that you would recommend.
I always preferred the Vision eGo Spinner over the Joyetech Twist. Both are variable voltage (variable power) which is preferred over a fixed voltage battery device. I'm not sure if the Evod is variable voltage or fixed voltage.

A "mod" is usually preferred by more experienced vapors: larger battery for longer use between charges, but a mod can sometimes be intimidating to new users. Either a mod or an eGo battery can be used successfully to stop smoking (don't let the FDA know I said that). ;)

My daughter bought one of those Eleaf iJust kits and had nothing but trouble with the tank leaking (and she's an experienced vaper). Just my :2c:

OK, so maybe not anything iJust... but (not wishing to step on your wisdom)...

Charging? usb is more reliable, surely?
Filling? easier to fill a GS tank than an evod tank
Battery life? A simple 30w iStick lasts a lot longer than a Spinner.
Coil life? GS air vs Kanger Protank... no competition, and the GS will never give dry hit 8-14 watts.
There might even be a topfill tank out there as well.

Personally, I would lean towards a basic mod and a proven tank.
Might even be cheaper too.

was checking out there webpages, joyetech has some newer models, are any of these good?
I don't see the twist on there webpage?

eGo AIO Archives - Joyetech

The AIO was popular. Maybe some models are no longer with us.
I'm not a fan off some all-in-one systems. (Everything tied into one bundle that might go wrong or leak badly, which we saw with a number of AIO Boxes) Again, as a starter prospect, yes.. not bad.
The folks on the forum know me; I'm about decent products and also value for money.
I can't speak for the USA, but in the UK, there are lots of good products that have some of the advantages seen in the newer technology and they are cheaper.

Maybe this really is an Innokin T18 moment? Hard to see you can wrong with that one.

On a day to basis, I use an iStick (or similar) and a GS tank.
before that, mini Nautilus.
before that, Protanks on anything really.... (eVic, SID, Vamo even)

What I enjoy the most is the reliability. I couldn't bear to go back to using an eGo battery and a mini Protank.

It's important you get going with this plan and a slightly false start doesn't mean it will be expensive to put right or 'bin' a bad product. It's not like the old days when a mistake could cost you $50 in one go.
The biggest mistake I made was to buy a $100 mod that lasted a very short time. Things don't seem to be like this anymore. If $20-$30 gets you a basic, but modern e-cig, just bag one and go for it!
Just avoid those nasty brands that like to charge $119 for a $29 Kanger.
