Totally new, not tech savy and I need help

I just got a KangerTech Mini Protank 2 (V2). I have a Vision Spinner 2 Battery. I am currently using a coil with a resistance of 2.2ohm and my battery is set at 4.8v. I do not understand the whole "resistance" thing and don't know if I am using the best one for me or my device and how it changes the results if I change the volts on my battery. I don't feel like I am getting enough vapor coming out and don't know what I should change first. Also, how long should a coil last if I am replacing a pack a day smoking habbit with my new device,.am using the 24 mg liquid. Any help would be awesome.I am not very tech oriented at all, I tried to read the info on some of the FAQ areas but just got more confused.

this chart will simplify for you, without doing "math". Green is good, red is too hot, yellow too cool.

on the left, your clearo at 2.2ohm, on top of chart, what your batt is set at. With a new coil, that may be a little "hot" (you are going into red there) and you should be getting MORE than enough vapor at that setting. Since you are using store bought coils I'd say maybe you got a bad one.

Make sure it is screwed in tightly. Often you will notice when opening it up that your coil isn't tight inside the clearo.

There is no way to say how long a coil will last, it depends on what you are vaping (dark juice that is sweet is harder on coils, etc.) 3 days to 3 weeks. :)

This chart is only applicable for single coils, which a mini protank 2 is.

quite frankly, with a simple set up like yours, you should just "dial in" whatever tastes good to you. Since you are not using a mechanical mod the battery you have has protections, it's going to either shut down or you will notice either a too cool or too hot vape just by taste.

2.2ohm coil vaping at 4.25 volts on your batt should give a very nice vape at 8.21 watts, do you see that?

Again, maybe either the coil is bad, is dying, not screwed in tightly, OR the coil is actually 2.5ohm or higher and mismarked. . at 2.2ohms I never turn my batt up past 4.2, but that is me.

take a look at this link. It explains resistance and ohms law very clearly. As far as voltage and wattage , it is more of personal taste. Adjust the wattage to what makes the best vape for you. Same goes for volts. Some people prefer higher wattage vaping while some prefer lower. Mostly I adjust my wattage accordingly to my e juice flavors and what tastes best with that particular flavor. By being able to adjust the wattage to your taste, it gives a much more personalized vaping experience. There is no right or wrong. It is what tastes best to you and the particular e juice flavor your using at the time. Same goes for voltage. A example, my unit changes The voltage automatically in accordance to the wattage I'm vaping. My unit allows me to vape up to 150 watts, all dependent on my personal taste. Of course you will need your build to be able to accommodate really high wattage vaping so it does not give a burnt flavor. If you start to taste a burnt flavor you will want to reduce your wattage so you don't taste a burnt taste. Other than that, it is totally and completely dependant on your personal taste what wattage you will be using.most newer units will adjust the voltage for you automatically in accordance with wattage. However some units have you adjust the Voltage .In that case, it's still all about personal taste and what you like. I suggest trying out different voltage/ wattage with different flavors and find your "Sweet Spot" with each flavor. It's different for everyone and all about what YOU like and think tastes best. It's just a way to more personalize your vaping expirence. I hope this post has helped you understand a bit better. I wish you the best.

I started out with 2 ohm coils and using 4.8 volts, I found I was burning out coils regularly. now I don't go over 4 volts on a 2 ohm coils. The other thing I got wrong when I started was not filling up the tank regularly. Letting the juice go too low will burn the wicking material in the coil giving you that burnt taste and basically the only solution is to change coils.

If you want more vapour look into lower ohm tanks and higher wattage VV/VW batteries. That has been my journey :)

Those charts are based on a an average device. This is one of the most familiar devices around so we can get more specific.

The resistance controls how much power flows for a particular voltage input. However Kanger varies the resistance by adding more coils for more resistance, so the higher resistance can actually handle slightly more power. In my experience, the 1.8 ohm coils can start burning juice on long drags when used above 3.5 volts, therefore some batteries put out too much for them. The 2.5 ohm coils is what Kanger includes in starter kits with fullsize but unadjustable batteries. I recommend the 2.2 to work with the widest range of batteries. It gives the best flavor at 3.6-3.9 V. More voltage may produce more flavor and vapor at first but tends to get a more "dry" character and then starts burning. Continue this and the vapor will drop as the wick gets all messed up.

If you need more vapor, you need a device designed for that. Unfortunately I have found this in some ways different but not better. For example, I have Uncle Junk's Key Stone in my RTA and have tried it with my RDA. I get a much more satisfying vape, thicker flavor and clouds. But, at least at my current level of coil building etc. it doesn't actually match the flavor. With my Mini Protank 2, I get the delicacy of key lime cheesecake that is intended. Plus that juice is too expensive to guzzle.

PS there are some ways to get more vapor out of the protank style coil units, but it's more limited. I like to rewick with cotton before the stock wick gets too bad. Some recoil which I've found tricky.

Also, vaping and smoking are two different things. Take slower, longer draws than when smoking. Most experienced vapers draw for 4-5 seconds. :)

So true, other than for nicotine delivery they're not even distant relatives except for sucking on something you hold in your hand.

Must. Not. Make. Joke... Urge. Almost. Overwhelming.

Also, welcome to the ECF OP! Plenty of great experience here and amazing folks.

Hopefully I say you around the threads.

IDK I think its just personal preference, as well as experience. I have a couple older protanks I cant hit over 4 volts where as a an I Clear 30 at 2.1 ohms I hit on my DNA 20 at like 10 watts (4.6 Volts applied) and it hits fantastic. For me I have found that different tank systems may "prefer" different power, for example I have several older vivi novas that like voltage better where as my kangers seem to like wattage better. As for coil life expectancy, it depends on how you vape, what you vape (juice) and how much power is applied; I have tanks that have had the same coil in them from the day I bought them 2 yrs ago. Maybe that's helpful

    Gutter minds unite!

Another thing worth mentioning is the liquid you're using. My understanding is that VG (Vegetable Glycerine) tends to give a bit more vapor and be a smoother vape while PG (Propylene Glycol) tends to give a bit more flavor and more throat hit.
