China also has a rep for shipping us hundreds of metric tons of lead contaminated child toys and producing melamine poisoned infant formula.
Again, this thread isn't even about Dekang juice. I haven't even said anything about Dekang juice other than that they put inappropriate ingredients like vitamins into their juice. Show me the report that these vitamins don't produce dangerous breakdown products or that they are even slightly bioavailable via that route and I'll shut up about it. Until then I don't give them any more credit than the garage juice makers that throw random, untested flavorings and ingredients in their juice. Just because you have clean facilities doesn't mean jack ......
they don't operate in a lawless jungle and China has very stiff penalties for production of dangerous consumer products.
That's hardly convincing to me. The fact that they have draconian punishments for just about every crime there and operate mobile "execution vans" to keep crime down just makes it worse. Almost everything in China is off the books and under the table precisely
because you can be executed for almost anything over there.
I've found plenty of problems with the e-juice out there today. I'm not impressed with Dekang's quality, but they seem to have avoided most of the common problems. Other places DO have a problem with throwing in any random ingredient they decide will taste good. I've had attys last for 2 weeks on one juice only to be killed in 2 days by another brand or flavor of juice. So you can't tell me there isn't major problems with the juice out there, I've seen it with my own eyes. Some juice doesn't even wick out of the cart properly and leaves behind a sticky gunk.
I've got nothing against Dekang. The only reason I picked on them is for adding random things they shouldn't be. If they've got data to show it's ok to add those ingredients then let them defend themselves. Until then they're gambling with people's health by adding unproven ingredients for marketing value alone.
I'm working on analyzing a number of juices and I'll be sure to post the results when they're ready. I'm waiting until I have good proof and documentation before I start slamming most of the juice companies out there, precisely because I know there's plenty of people out there that believe in pretty pictures and Chinese safety certificates.
Until then use common sense. If it kills attys in a couple days you probably don't want it in your body. If it leaves a sticky goo behind in your cart it will probably kill your atty in no time flat. If it's dyed a bright color then they've added dyes you probably don't need to be inhaling. If it claims to have ingredients you know haven't been safety tested for vaporization, then don't use it.
