An old friend of mine that lives 600 miles away called me out of the blue and told me his story about a cancer scare. We have both been smoking for over 30 years. He told me when this happened he threw away the cigs and started on e-cigs. He said he was going to send me an early Christmas present. He tried to explain to me all he had learned in the week since he put down the analogs. I dont remember any of it because I pretty much had no idea what he was talking about. I had tried the convenience store e -cigs in the past and they really never did the trick so my interest level was low.
A few days later a Holo G6 starter kit arrived. I charged it up and took a few drags. Not bad. I was a RYO and had just bought a new batch of tobacco so I planned on taking it a little more seriously after I finished up the bag. At Christmas I decided to start vaping when I was places I couldnt smoke over the holidays. The week between Christmas and New Yrs I took my Halo kit with me during the day. I found myself vaping more each day and smoking less. I was really starting to like it. By New Years Eve, I found that I only smoked 3 cigs that day and decided that my new yrs resolution was going to be to stop smoking. I did. I already had some Halo mini tanks, batteries and some Tribecca on the way. My starter kit was Tribecca and it is still my favorite vape out of the now 25 flavors I have collected. I think I've spent a few hundred dollars in the past 3 weeks on stuff. Vaping has become a new hobby for me.
I still get cravings if I'm not vaping. But they go away as soon as I get a good long hit.
My wife still smokes. she also is vaping a little. she says she needs to finish off her bag of tobacco.
By the way, I never finished mine.
Stick with it. I have tried everything over the years to quit. I was on Chantix for 6 month and that didnt last after I stopped taking it. Vaping was so easy for me. Good Luck!!

It was easy for me, I'm going on 7 months now and somedays it gets to me kinda bad (mostly if I drink alcohol) usually just vapping for a bit gets rid of the craving fast for me. I've been thinking about giving tobacco flavors a try to see if that will satisfy those drunk cravings to trick me into thinking I'm "smoking tobacco", maybe that will do. I hope you keep going strong though! Don't give up! It's the best way to go.

I haven't been vaping long (going on 2 weeks) was looking into the alternatives over cigarettes didn't like the smell or the coughing every time the weather changed and all the other side effects, tried to quit a time or two didn't work tried the njoys and what a huge waste of time a few months back a buddy of mine purchased a setup and one day at work he let me try it I kind of enjoyed it aside of the menthol liquid he had, did my research and went into the local B+M and picked up a mini rig on a whim after figuring out my technique to vaping I am thoroughly enjoying it no smell and a nic fix when needed without smoking an entire cigarette looking into upgrading all in good time

My experience was relatively easy. Budget constraints made it tough-love easy; I could afford an e-cig or analogs, but not both. I took a chance, and it worked for me.

The first couple weeks were...interesting...to say the least. My lung rumble cleared up almost immediately which was the impetus that started me up in the first place. But the morning cravings were murder. Trying to restabilize the nicotine levels in the blood after sleeping is harder with a vape, the nicotine isn't as readily absorbed as it is from smoke. I'd nearly suck my tank flat for the first two hours every morning. Fortunately that will ease over time, but I don't think it ever really goes away, I still hit harder in the mornings than any other part of the day. Drink your water.

I was lucky in that when my lungs started cleaning, they did it subtly instead of making me cough incessantly like happens for some people. The first week was comfy, no real big changes. The second week and for a couple of weeks after, I couldn't utter a squeak without clearing my throat first, lungs would sweep the garbage up to my throat and park it there for me to deal with. I still get that, but it's not constant anymore. Drink your water.

I got the joys of going through puberty again, too. Smoking suppresses testosterone, the body has to ramp up production to compensate. In sudden fashion, the suppressive effect of smoking vanished for a body accustomed to compensating for it and hormones became, for a time, over-abundant. This is why people get the "quit-zits", an increase in acne. Comes with all the other pubescent effects too. You'll discover those on your own, no need for details. Drink your water.

The main carrier materials in e-juice have a laxative effect. You will be astonished at how regular you suddenly become. A LOT of regular. This is temporary, it will taper off, but your movements will be considerably easier, constipation will be a thing of the past. Drink your water.

You are going to experience sleeplessness. You just aren't going to want to go to sleep. Nicotine is a stimulant, but why this effect is so pronounced from vaping when it wasn't from smoking is a mystery to me. You are going to have to keep multiple nic level juices handy. High nic for morning cravings, regular nic for all day, very low nic for evening time or you are going to become VERY familiar with what's new on the late-night infomercials. Drink your water.

I got lucky also. The last cigarette I had was about 20 minutes before the mailman delivered my Evod :) There was just no comparison for me. Vaping gave me my nic fix PLUS amazing flavors. Any time I thought about a cigarette or even lit one up, it paled in comparison to the satisfaction I got from my Blueberry Muffin vape.

But...my ex boss, who also started vaping at the same time can't seem to find that same kind of satisfaction out of it. He says flavors just aren't doing for him and he misses the feel of a regular cigarette in his hand. I think it's because he just hasn't found his perfect vape set up yet....but who knows.

I had a very easy time stopping real cigs, I stopped picked up the highest level ecigs and they were strong enough to keep me from jumping back into cigarettes.

My biggest issue wasn't the stopping it was continuing to stay off real cigs. I loved smoking, getting new lighters and ashtrays, getting new packs, packing them down, opening that fresh seal. All of that was a daily event, it brought me joy, so i had to customize my vaping to make up for some of that aspect of my smoking that I was missing.

So my journey for the last 9 months has lead me to bigger and better mods and tanks and now on to rebuildables and DYIing my own juice. Vaping in itself has become a hobby for me, a hobby that no matter how much I may spend on new stuff, I will still never spend as much or hurt myself as much as when I smoked tobacco!

All I can say is no matter what you are doing in this crazy fast moving vape world, always keep in mind why we all are here to start with and thats to keep off the killer tobacco and no matter how we may do that if its working then its all good!

I guess my problem comes from the pg, I've literally wanted to give up alot in the last week because of issues. I was doing great the first 4 days, on an accidental order of a pg/vg ratio, not thinking I added a local vendor juice and broke out in hives! I can't afford a new tank but I drained the juice but still have hives from the last fill :/ I haven't given in but the itching is crazy and the migraine! I have an order of juices headed my way but the holiday Monday pushed all orders back a day and my new tank is with said order :'( lol once it comes in I'm hoping the full transition is great for me. Again. Minus the headaches (which are tiny now due to the pg) and the itchiness I love my ecig. Waiting for payday so I can upgrade my battery to a revolver. I've got these tiny 650 batteries and the hit isn't constant and in charging them back and fourth which is annoying even if they do charge in 30 min
