I have been pretty happy with the boge 3,2 cartos. Great flavor and vapor with the BuzzPro. This Christmas I was gifted with a Kangertech Mega kit, which comes with 1.8 duel coils. This is giving me less vapor and the flavor goes downhill after about half a tank. So my question - what resistance coil am I looking for to get the same result I was getting with the cartos? Can it be done?

The dual coils, I think, just need higher power. Try turning it up some, see if that helps. I personally can't abide dual coils, they change the flavor in ways I find unpleasant; I use a smok UDCT daily, but I buy 3.0 single-coil cartos to put in it. When I'm not using the cartotank, I use a Kayfun -- single-coil. Or just a plain Boge XL carto on a vv3.

The trouble is that this particular juice is heating up too much. It needs the cooler 3 or so ohms rather than the 1.8 duel coil. It seems to me that to get the taste benefit of a tank I will have to find a 3 ohm coil somewhere. I have tried searching but can find no ready made coils over 2.5, and they don't fit the mega and I am kinda new to tanks to even attempt building my own coils. If I have to go with another tank, I'm prepared to do that, as long as it will work with my buzz so I don't need yet another mod, and it doesn't require a carto. Any ideas?

Maybe just turn the power down some? Increase air flow?

If you can't find the resistance you want in pre-made coils, and you can't adjust it to your taste with the variable voltage/wattage... you're pretty much stuck with building your own coils. With a kayfun, you build/wick your own, and there is some adjustability in TH by whether you pull the coil up high, or mount it just over the airhole -- high coil gives good TH, lower coil will minimize it.

You can get 3 ohm cartos, for either vaping on their own or in a cartotank -- vaporkings.com has great Smok cartotanks for $6, and you can find great XL single-coil pre-punched cartos for $1.50 at ibtanked.com, or $1.35 if you buy 10 or more; or, you can find the same cartos at LJ's Esmokes for $1.52 each. For non-punched cartos, I think electronicstix has the best price, $3.75/5pk.

But all these problems are exactly why I can't abide dual coils; either they're too hot, not hot enough, or just change the flavor of the juice to something really awful. They're just not worth the trouble.

Thanks for the info. It has been frustrating trying to solve the two main problems I have with this juice - that it needs a cooler temp and that in cartos the flavor gets dull after two to three days. I was really hopeful that a clearomizer would be the perfect solution. This outfit was a gift and not what I would have chosen. But on the upside, I have found a flavor juice that is doing well with the 1.8 coils, though I think I am going to have to lower the nic level at that lower resistance because the head rush is giving me a headache. I've been through 2 tanks on the same coil and the flavor is still all there.

UPDATE

The 2.5 ohm coils arrived today and they give a much smoother vape in the Mega Tank. Oddly enough, the airflow adjustment is not as subtle as it was at 1.8 ohms. That's a nice bonus. They also allow the tank to work with my Buzz Pro. I think that the resistance was too low for the Buzz batteries to handle. It is a great relief to know that I can now use the tank in either device. I really like that steel reinforced Pyrex. I see more Mega Tanks in my future.

I also found 3 ohm coils at SmokTech!
