Translation Help?

Hello friends... I originally posted this in the "Lounge." A moderator suggested that I post this here...
I was just wondering what: "L'amour regarde quelqu'un qui meurt" means in English...
One of my students got this tattooed on himself -
I studied French some back in high school and college... and I get the literal translation... I was wondering what this might mean or what it might be from?
