Traveling Sample Box

Has there ever been a Traveling Sample Box in the PIF thread? Is there one now? If there is not, would anyone be interested in starting one? If I started one, would anyone participate?

Just putting out some feelers to see if anyone might be interested. Lemme know.

Sorry but IMO its a bad idea and wouldn't work. I for one like to know where my juice comes from and who handled it and how it was handled. We have a PIF thread that works well for trying new stuff and a wants thread too that serves same purpose.

I agree,I dont want that many people handling things I plan to inhale.Plus what if I like everything and I want it all?LOL!

Roger that. It only takes 2 moderators telling me the members of their forum are shady and untrustworthy characters before I believe them. Don't worry, I won't tell them if you don't. Nobody here wants a razor blade in their apple.

Speaking of apples...it only takes ONE bad one as the saying goes. I would say that a vast majority of our members are far from shady and untrustworthy.

Unfortunately the forum is not by invitation only anymore, and when anyone can come in it's a little scary to me~!

I have to agree, a traveling box is a cool idea in scrapbooking, but with things that will go in my mouth, I would pass.

It works very well in my straight razor shaving forum. We have about 3 huge traveling sample boxes going around right now, and no one has ever slipped any arsenic or acid into my shaving cream or aftershave before.

But, I understand your... demur. C'est la vie. Il n'y a pas de quoi fouetter un chat.

Wow this offends me on so many levels. Maybe you didn't mean it but I think you need to learn more about this forum and it's members before you use words like "shady"

really, we have a great family here. there have been a couple instances where a couple certain people would try and take advantage of the giving nature of the community. There has been an issue with smeone getting juice that was altered. all before I even joined, but I commend the mods for keeping this forum so clean and friendly for us. your idea may be good for some, just not here

But, if you read back... most of the objections to this idea have been trust based; and really what are we to infer from that?

Realistically, pif itself acts as a traveling sample box, in the various main pif, wants, and needs threads.
Just more targeted, which keeps extra postage costs down.

Bunch of things that might be interresting? Accept the pif.

Specific thing you want to sample? Post a want.

The whole area really operates on trust.

I saw nothing about trust. I saw a post questioning how sanitary this method would be, is what I made of it anyway.

If you have questions about trust on this sub forum I suggest you read the positive feedback thread and then the negative feedback one next, although it may take you quite some time to find that one

It's not a trust issue as much as members (perhaps new members without much knowledge) not knowing how to properly handle and store juices. For example do you know bacteria grows in VG? Do you know the proper way to store and handle juices?
IMO this matter is closed.

This right here is exactly how I feel and, to be completely honest, why I have been shying away from this forum. Having received one batch of slightly questionable juices I am no longer willing to risk it...

I still enjoy this subforum but am finding myself less active than I once was.
