I just completed a trip to and from Europe (Croatia via Germany specifically). I previously had read some of the comments on the topic of air travel and vaping with great interest, needless to say. On the way over I loaded up two clearomizer tanks and attached them to my Ego twist batteries and stuck them in my jacket pocket. The rest of the equipment and e-liquid I placed in my checked baggage.
I had no problems going through TSA security screening out of Buffalo, NY, placing the filled tanks and batts in the bin with my belt, shoes and travel bag. One of the airline personnel at the gate asked out of curiosity what the things in my pocket but that was the extent of any questions. Traveling through Croatia I had a few questions about the equipment and a lot of curious looks but a lot of friendly responses. Croatia is a country of smokers and analogs are generally well tolerated in public. Smoking in restaurants is almost the rule and in many places they don't even have "smoking sections". Everyone seems to be smoking, especially in the outdoor cafes and restaurants (where my wife and I got most of the questions about our vaping equipment).
On the way back, I was a little braver and just packed my batteries and clearomizers in my carry-on and one loaded vaper in my pocket, which I again just placed in the bin going through security both in Zagreb, Croatia and Newark, NJ. Passed everything through security all the way with no problems. Came back through Frankfurt, Germany but no security check now that Croatia is part of the EU. Hope the information is helpful. BTW Croatia is beautiful, as usual, this time of year.
