Hi,

Trying to find new tobacco flavors other than the Dekang Desert Ship I've been using for years. Based on some of the reviews here, I bought some Heather's Heavenly liquids and right out of the bottle they were awesome. Will definitely buy more of the Heavenly Tobacco.

Then I bought some less expensive Thrive Tobacco Leaf and it's also good. It's a mild tobacco flavor. Liked it but not as much as the Heavenly Tobacco.

Wish I could say the same for the Whiskey Rebellion. After the reviews on Youtube and at $13 per 6 ml bottle I was excited to receive these liquids that were supposed to have a distinct whiskey flavor with pipe tobacco. The Angry Farmer tasted like rubbing alcohol and chemicals, The 1794 tasted like rubbing alcohol and chemicals. The Hamilton's Heat tasted like rubbing alcohol and chemicals mixed with some cinnamon. Very disappointing.

For those of you who vape all day, what do you use to stay within a semi reasonable budget and still enjoy the flavor. Especially tobacco flavor.

Thanks.

I use 3 different tobacco flavors all day. Not purely tobacco as they have hints of other things and are the only juices I buy now. Nicoticket Virus, I know, sounds odd, but it's awesome. Tobacco with hints of maybe maple and other things. Nicoticket Wakonda, a tobacco blend with coffee tones, and Absolute Creme Brulee, same company, is tobacco absolute with a nice tone of creme brulee. All awesome, all 3 are vapes daily. Price is respectable for a premium juice line. Customer service second to none.

Sounds like you need to start DIYing. Once you get your basic tools together you can vape for 10% of the cost of shop bought juices. You have to lay out a bit to get started but after that it's a real pocket saver.
Read the DIY threads, especially the stickies......

Shirtbloke, do you vape tobacco flavors? Which recipe do you like the most? I'm all in for DIY liquids.

I'm a big fan of Inawera's Tobacco Absolutes - made from genuine tobacco leaf using some kind of extraction process. Also DNB which gives the "ashy" taste that I used to miss from my smoking rollup days - also from Inawera.

Have you checked on the steeping times for these? Search through the forums on steeping, and ask where you bought them what the recommended steeping times are, but generally if you're getting medicinal/flowery/peppery notes the eliquid is still "raw." Note for tobaccos this can take a few weeks to a month to fully mature, while something like Dekang can be months to a year old by the time you get it. Do note while steeping you'll want to be careful about letting the one that's supposed to taste like whiskey not air-breath too much or you'll end up muting the flavor once it matures.

There are many more budget-minded eliquids around, though they'll often require steeping too as they're made to order. Just keep in mind the eliquids you picked up might taste pretty great in a few weeks so don't toss them or anything. :)

Hi Batman,

Thanks for your response. I believe Whiskey Rebellion's website says the liquids are made to order. When I contacted them and asked about steeping, they said the juice should be good to go as soon as I received it. They said I could send it back and they would test it but I won't mess with that. Instead of throwing it away, I will hold it for a few weeks and see what happens. Thanks for the nudge on that one.

We're pals and both like horses, call me db. :)

Try this:

1. Give it a good shake, more than you think is necessary. As in it's a red-headed stepchild shake.

2. Take the top off and leave it for a few hours. Replace top, shake again. You don't want to leave the top off too long since it's a whiskey flavor, but enough to help some of the other alcohol carriers evaporate out.

3. Put in a dark place, let it be for a week, giving it a shake every day or ever other day. You don't really need to do the shaking and could leave it, but it can help speed things up.

I hope it helps, I know you probably spent a good chunk of change on it. And I could be off, but that peppery/floral/medicinal taste is usually the base or flavor carriers just not having steeped enough. Ideally you'll check it in a week and can tell it's changing, and in 2-4 you'll be very happy with it.

I'm a big fan of Halo's Torque56 and Tribeca. Anything else I've tried just tastes like imitation tobacco to me. Halo sells them online at $20 for a 30ml bottle, but you can usually save a little bit with coupons.

I took your advice and have those three flavors on order. They shipped today. BTW, looks like Nicoticket has a rewards program if you refer someone. Do you want me to tell them you referred me? Very nice people to speak with.

Sorry that you didn't have a good experience. You should write some reviews of what you found over on JuiceDB.com . I checked some of those flavors on there, and some had no reviews (to help out others).

I tried Charlie Nobel "Tripoli" and it was pretty good. Description is finely crafted blend of aged Turkish tobaccos, fig, almonds, and rare spices. The tobacco flavor is subtle though but I really thought it was tasty. It's a high VG blend but only $6.99 for a 15ml. I have yet to try a lot of tobacco blends but I've only been vaping a few weeks. I was very impressed with the Tripoli, so I thought I would mention it.

I don't vape tobacco flavours, but even if I did I wouldn't make recommendations on what you should buy, but rather what you should try. I think the only way to go to avoid spending money on juice you won't want to vape is to get to local B&Ms and sample. I've found this to be an invaluable tactic as a budget-conscious vaper. When I began vaping, I quickly noticed that flavour is incredibly subjective. Preferences will vary from individual to individual, and neither price nor popularity is a guarantee that you'll like a given brand or flavour. Sample, sample, sample!

Thanks for the link. As soon as I have my minimum posts as a newbie fulfilled, I'll share my experience with the flavor AND the customer service or lack of. I do believe flavors are subjective just like our preference as far as Coke vs Pepsi vs Dr. Pepper. I will try DB's suggestion of shaking and steeping.

Would LOVE to have a local shop where we can try flavors. Unfortunately, I do not know of one in this area. I'm still looking though.

You were so right about their customer service. Nice nice people to chat with and very helpful. We discussed equipment and liquids. I ordered these three flavors and they will be here Saturday. Thanks for the suggestion.
