hi guys, haven't been around much lately, been quite busy with a new tech job that has me putting some 70+ hours/week.

I'm still loving my 2 (modded) REOs and as a matter of fact I'm just waiting for Rob to release the new sub-ohm kit before I order the third one (unless for some miracle I can get my hands on a ZNA)

To my question:

Has anyone modded this for the REO? It fits perfectly but the center post is not aligned with the positive post (it's a bit like the RM2 in this regard):

THANKS!

I would be interested. Not sure what the diameter of it is. But I am ordering it now. Thanks

patrao,

the bottom-most part is 12 mm / .471 in, the rmw is 13.43 mm / .528 in, both just measured on my vernier

it does fit perfectly, I just haven't drilled it, can't find a away to take the positive out (and I don't have a drill press)

Thanks dhomes.
I too dont have a drill press. But being a machinist I will find another way and I will update this thread with my homebrew method.

thanks patrao, look forward to seeing what you did with it

even as a regular dripper It's an excellent cheapy atty (for the price it's way better put together than any other I've gotten off FT), enjoying it right now on my Futura DNA20

Ok I may have just thought of a way. I will be ordering more to test with. If you leave the cap on you may be able to separate the 510 side and the post side. It would definately give more grip. If you can do that without damaging it, it becomes super simple. Just drill a hole in the top of the plunger. Then make a groove using a dremel on the side of the center pin. Then it would just require you to make a hole on top or groove in the positive pin.

hey guys.... i'm interested in this kind of stuff to... turning rda's etc into bottom feeders.... I have a couple of dif rda's on the way to experiment with and if any of them are any good I shall let you know, one of them looks similar to that one in the first pic.... i'm just trying to find things that will fit on a standard reo not a LP reo.... I like small rda's

i don't want to step on redeye's toes because he's a good guy but i received a standard igo-s yesterday that i modded myself to save some money... hard times :D and i got to say im pretty impressed... used a cordless drill and a standard drill bit not a cobalt or bit for drilling stainless steel...maybe i'll take some pics but it looks just like the one someone posted of one that was bought from rob with the squonk hole on the inside of the pos post close to the deck

Slippy, the igo-s is a great little guy to mod youself, i have a couple of bf and for regular dripping. I do prefer the smaller chamber RDAs

But i prefer even more the small ones that have the positive / negative post at the extremes (reo, phoenix, trivecca, etc),thats why i'm seeing the best way to mod the trivecca for bf.

I have a rm2 from rob and will get another one soon, but those i do not like to tinker with (leave stock hole, etc). The cheapo ones , modded by myself are just quite fun to play with

Let us know about your experiments
