It just started doing this. I hadn't used it in a few months because I was using ego style batteries exclusively.
And well I went to charge some 18650's for a new mod and noticed a high pitched hissing sound coming from the charger.
It unnerved me and I quickly unplugged it. Does anyone know if it's dangerous to charge batteries on this thing now? I don't want to ruin the batteries or have one explode or something.
I'm not really sure at this point if it's the batteries or the charger that is causing it. Old batteries I guess. Gonna buy a new one and see if the sound persists.
Anyone got some :2c: on this?

The issue I had with my TrustFire was that it got very hot, so did the batteries. The batteries are the AW 18490 1100mah, just purchased in January,

Bought a Efest LUC V2 last month, however I believe that the TrustFire charger permanently de-rated them, they barely hold a charge a day now. Thing about it is, the device that uses these batteries (Astro clone) isn't used that much, am using my 1300mah ego-c device a lot more & charge lasts for days. Even my very first starter 1100mah ego battery lasts longer.

There are two things that it's imperative not to go cheap on, batteries & chargers. Not only for the health of the batteries, more important, the safety of the charger & batteries themselves.
