If this is the spring mod, you're right vinyl, this is THE BEST cart mod EVER. I've tried them all and this is the ONLY one that has ever consistently worked for me. The spring holds the filler perfectly and the filler acts as a vacuum plug(staying wet but not letting any juice to flood into the atty). The best thing about this is , every vape is like an AFS vape(full flavor and vapor) and it uses every last drop of eliquid in the cart.

If you don't have an AFS, definitely try this mod. It's easy as pie as well.

You guys just wait until you can get an AFS... I can not begin to tell you how much vapor I get from this 901 atomizer. And I get about 60 drops in it... lol... If I start to taste dry I just turn it over and fill the atty back up... that's it..

But FYI.. I was doing this one for a little while there and it DOES work pretty well. I think after I got sick of topping this thing off was when I just started dripping.. I flung that spring and filler in the trash..

But relief is on the horizon folks... you are going to be amazed at the AFS.. Amazed at the huge difference.

Love the crickets in the background of the video

This one also works but you don't have to use pen springs...:)

YouTube - Straw Mod Redux

Its easier to do and make....for us that don''t have nimble fingers....

Moog, I was using that one exclusively for months until I came across the spring. For me, the hard part was finding the springs (ended up at a hardware store). All you have to do is drop the spring in vertically, fill the atty, cut a small piece of filler and you can vape moderately all day without refilling. There is very little lost space in the cart-its all juice!

I don't get it.

Before I began dripping (when I actually used to fool with filling carts) I would drip 10-12 drops inside, stuff in the polyfill, then top off with another 4-5 and be done with it.

No spring, no cutting...

How is this better?

Bandit, if your method worked well for you then this might not be better for you.

I know some (including me) disliked the polyfill holding onto a signifigant portion of the juice, and wanted something that was fast/simple to refill.

This mod allows you to fill to the bottom of the spring (aproximately 12 drops as you did) pop in the small plug (I am using a doubled over swatch of the blue foam on my version as I dislike the fibers of the polyfill) hit that with a few drops and go.

The difference between what you did and this mod is if the vape starts to taste dry, it is because the juice is gone, not just low as in a cart using all polyfill that is hanging onto the juice like it has its own nic habbit.

Another thing I find I like with this over the traditional cart, no accidental overflows while stuffing the larger polyfill in too fast, nor do we need plastic straws or syringes in an attempt at avoiding the same.

For a shorter answer: some likes it more better. :)

Having said that, I would much prefer an AFS over anything I have seen to date.

The flip side is, I can do this now (when I dont want to drip while on the go) and it costs me the price of a spring from a pen that doesn't work anymore (to mod 4-5 carts) while I must wait for an AFS and it will cost a bit more than a spring :)

PS: If that was your vid on xtranorml about deciding on a pv, it was hysterical :lol:

I use it almost exclusively with the 801 although I have tested with the 510. My PV's are Janty Sticks and VP2-soon to be replaced by the GGT with an 801 adaptor!!! :D

Lynn

P.S. I mostly use the spring in the vertical position for the 801's.

Aaaaaahh yes, the 801 spring cart mod,

a brilliant concept by someone with a bunny brain, about 10 months ago as I recall !!!!!!!!!

working in conjunction with sun vaporer at the time,
many brilliant ideas were born, this was one of the better ones that has survived all this time------

well done wabbitt !!!!!!!!!!:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

So, you are the one who is responsible for this mod- a great one if I may say so!!! Until the AFS are ready, I love this. I can vape all day (on my JS in the office and VP2 in the car and at home) and rarely have to refill. Well done to our resident bunny with the BIG brain and even bigger heart.

Thanks, :D
