I was all set for the Prodigy and about to order one and they changed it on me. With the V1 you could vape 3.7v, 5v, 6v, with a change of the resistor and batteries. It even had that little well that would catch the juice runoff. The only downside to it really was the switch going out.The new Prodigy will be 5v only. They plan to go smaller so I'm guessing unprotected batteries. Could be wrong since it's still in development. So to get 3.7 you will have to spend the money again and get the Protege'. Yea would be nice but I don't have the money.

So I sat down and narrowed it down to the Chuck and the SB. The Chuck failed my biggest requirement. Would it go off in my pocket?? Yea the custom graphic and little well to catch the extra juice is sweet but...The SB had a recessed area around the nice button to prevent it going off in my pocket. The button was also larger for a better feeling on my thumb. It's made out of a lighter material and was ready to ship. As for the BB it's smaller and uses CR2 batteries and a smaller battery than the SB for 3.7. If you want something smaller it's the way to go but I really don't want to use unprotected batteries. What really attracted me to the SB and the other 2 mods was the protected batteries. I don't want to babysit my charger. Also the massive 18650 battery for 3.7v and (2) CR123a batteries for 6v. They could also double for my flashlights I have that use CR123a batteries since they're expensive for the disposables and I needed to get some rechargeable ones for them anyways.

Here is the link for the BB. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/altsmoke/41412-what-you-got-behind-your-back.html

NightShadow: Thanks for the info on the Prodigy, it's good to know. As for the VP2 and the GG, I already ruled those out for aesthetics and button placement.

Boondongle, your most welcome.

If you are not a fan of the vp2's led's I see the asthetics being an issue, which is why I went with the protoge myself!

As for button placement, the gg does have it at farther down, and the adaptever and super t and orgiginal SD have the button on the bottom end which I am just not a fan of and it seems you may not be either. (power to the pinkie people that like them however :) )

Let us know what you decide to go with, and good luck!

just for interest from a long tern end button presser.. he he

an SD button isnt pressed with the pinky finger.. its actually very difficult to do this.. the pinky aint made for sideways pressing..

so how is it done.. well the device is rested about in the middle of the pinky finger or the one above it i use the middle of the pinky finger mostly...

the top part is gripped between thumb and forefinger.. with an SD this is what the curve is for.. so it sits there in the hand.. button supported by the middle of the pinky finger near the finger joint...

the thumb and forefinger kind of press down against the pinky finger.. its like a hand squeezing action.. the pinky finger dosnt move at all.. in fact nothing much moves at all except the button gets pressed..

i have never tried it much with bigger none curvy devices.. but the size and shape of the SD just lends itself to the end button function.. i dont think a different shaped or larger device would fit the hand so well..

its all about overall design and ergonomics.. with some shapes (and sizes) the switch is best placed on the side.. with others its best placed on the bottom..

small tactile micro switches also wont last very long.. but thats for the user to find out..

No offense to your SD, I am sure it is well suited for some (perhaps most even!), but when I mentioned pinkie pressing above I realized it wasnt pressed with the fingertip. I just prefer something I can press with an index finger or thumb.

I am gratefull we have people making different types of pv's however, so we all have more choices to find a pv that best suits each of us.

Hi everyone,

I asked this in a different thread, but this topic seems to be along the lines of my concerns. Jboze answered some questions for me in PMs and I'm very thankful. Would just like some other input as well.

I currently use the NPro. I believe it's a quality product and I like NJoys customer service. My problem is this. I'm happy with the vapor production and throat hit when I use a fresh battery and cart. The problem is this only seems to last a few minutes. Then I'm waiting for the other battery to charge. And I often find myself having a real cig (marlboro ultra light) several times per day. I'm kind of in between vaping and smoking real cigs.

So I've been looking for something that will give me longer lasting vapor and maybe a little stronger throat hit. As I said, with a freshly charged battery and a newly filled cart (or sometimes even dripping), the NPro seems to be satisfactory in both of those categories.

I've narrowed my choices down to the Prodigy or the Janty. Here are my thoughts on both, based entirely what I've read on this forum and from watching some video reviews.

The Prodigy - Very nice vapor and throat hit. Nice design and a quality product all around. I've never had any bad dealings, or even heard of any, with the folks from PS. The problem is it's currently out of stock and in a redesign phase. So who knows when it'll be available again, and when it is available, will I get it ordered before they sell out again? It seems I could be waiting for months before I "might" get one.

The Janty Stick - Nice design and looks like decent vapor production. Based entirely on what I've seem in video reviews, it appears to produce the same vapor (maybe just a bit more) as my NPro with a fresh battery and cart. What I like most about it is the built-in usb port. I spend a lot of my day at a computer, so being able to plug it into the usb and puff away seems like it would be a big plus for me.

My only problem with the Janty is there seems to be some very mixxed reviews about it. Some claiming low vapor production and throat hit. Which leads me to be concerned that if I purchase one, I'll end up still wanting the Prodigy.

Any advice will be most appreciated.

hey acepool

I would go with the prodity before the janty. janty 3.7v prodigy 5v.
Big difference.
If you want more than you have now, that's what I'd choose/

I use the Chuck among other mods and I have never had a problem with it at 6v. Does well at 3.7 too. And cheaper also. There is a small wait though for it to be made.

Check out GLV greatlakesvapor.com
they have a great 5v.

T1 from supertmanufacturing.com great looking device..

GG's from Imeo great too!

There are so many it is hard to decide but like you said, a lot of them you cant get at present time.

Nhaler coming out with a mod too..

VP3 coming out in a couple of weeks from vaprlife.com
5v unit.

3.7 just doesnt satisfy any longer. I do it but always go back to 5 or 6v to get my fix!

I own the Prodigy, Protégé, The Chuck, GGT, SB, Magnum, Multi Volt Detonator, Box Mods, The Copper, 510 PCC, 808 PCC, etc.... I vape them in rotation and find that I like something about all of them .. Its a hard choice to make but for me the button and battery options are the most important you can always get the adapters from AltSmoke .. :)

Curious as to which of these you think is is the best "small" mod? I just got my silver bullet. It's pretty and solid but it is HUGE. 8-o I won't be able to use it outside the house. Everything I read about the SB was positive but I can already see it's not my style.
3.7 batt is enough for me~~~I am searching for something small and a bit more elegant. The slimmer, the better. The GG, perhaps? Many thanks for any input! :)

I was in the same position. I narrowed myself down to a Chuck or a Little Chuck after some reading. I wondered if the 3.7 volt and 6 volt option was worth the size versus the 3.7 volt only on the little chuck. I think the chuck is 5 inches, and the little chuck is 3.5 inches or something like that. Then I re-found the SB, which is 4.25 inches (in hand with a ruler right now) - which can vape at 3.7 or 6 volts - I don't think I will want to vape at 6 but I like to have the option after I spent money on a big battery mod - so basically...
The SB is sleek as hell
The same specs as the Chuck at a smaller size
Bigger than the little Chuck but can vape at 6 volts
Right in the middle, more or less of the little and big chuck
But the same specs as a big chuck, and is very sleek with a recessed button.
And I personally think that the wait time would be much less for the SB.
But don't get me wrong, the Chuck looks great, I was 1/2 second from ordering it 2 weeks ago.
There are cons to the SB compared to the Chuck:
No awesome Chuck graphics, but I didn't really care about that. But I am sure that many do, and his graphics are wicked cool and really really well done, as far as I can see. They all look really good. He's an artist.
But also, everytime I read a post, it is 1/2 of the time hijacked by chuck fans and it is more difficult to get useful information while they are promoting the Chuck (which I love, and will order if I find a graphic I really want, but jeez, I was trying to get battery info and I spent 1 hour reading through Chuck fanboy spam yesterday!)

But I went with the SB at a higher price for the same specs as a big chuck for a battery mod that was slightly smaller, albeit without kickass graphics. It was like $15-20 more I think, in the end, but I was figuring on using it for a long-term device so didn't care about a few dollars vs what I thought would be better for me.

I really think that the specs are important - a mod with an 18650 batt will vape more or less like any other one, for example (I believe - others don't), so it depends on your taste and budget. I figure the nicostick at the same voltage vapes the same as my expensive mod at the same voltage (but I am a noob, not an expert on anything battery-related).

But, I do love the SB! It's pretty sweet. And now there's the BB! Now I have to decide between a Little Chuck with awesome graphics, and a BB, I'm sure they are not the same, maybe spec-wise, but now I am speaking aesthetically, as the SB works fine for me and if I buy anything else it would be purely for fun / it looks cool, kinda deal.

Anyways, good luck. I'm sure whatever you decide on, you will probably like it.

If your at the computer all the time you may consider getting the new PS Passthru, it vapes at 5 Volts and should be available very soon.
I'm planning to get one myself

Altsmoke is advertising the bb but I don't know when they will be in
