Hello, I'm Brenda from northern California. I just registered but have been reading for a month or so.I haven't started vaping yet, just gathering info and wanting to stop this bad habit. Been smoking for 40+ years and now at a pack to a pack and a half a day of full flavor menthols. Need to quit for my health and purse both. Did order my pv but now need to order everything else that I need to go with it, juice, cartos, attys, batteries, charger, etc. I'm not sure what to get and can't afford to waste money. That's why I started with a mod. Hope I got a good one. I got a Saber Touch, VV, high power option, with a passthough. I didn't want to go through ordering a small one, then another etc like so many I read had done to start out. But now what to get and how many so it will work with my mod and I won't run out.........whew!!!!! A lot of info on here for an old woman to absorb. Thanks everyone for all the info, wouldn't have known where to even start. :)

Thank you Classwife!!! Good to hear I made a good choice on my Pinkie, I call her!!! Well I thought maybe cartos and have even thought about a vivi tank. Seems like the tank may be cheaper with the replaceable heads. I don't know. But I want some attys too for testing juice. I would like to order juices and then soon get into DIY juices. I have always smoke full flavor menthols and now smoke 1 to 1 1/2 pack a day........gotta stop this before I can't breathe anymore. Getting short winded. Anyway that's my thinking!!!

Greetings from Canada! Welcome to ECF!

The Vivi Nova 2.5 would work good on the Saber Touch. It does not leak and it is easy to clean and lasts a long time. The heads can be replaced cheaply or rebuilt. There are several others that you may want to try later but in the meantime the Vivi Nova will get you up and running with no fuss, no muss!

Relax, Enjoy!

Thanks X P3 that's what I thought!!! On the extra heads which do you think I should get? Thanks again!!!

Any of the heads can be used with VV. You just increase the voltage with the higher ohm ones. The 1.8 ohm would be least useful unless you like very warm vapor. Most juices will burn easily with low ohms and higher voltage. The 2.4 and 2.8 are both useful and you should try each or have each because different juices react differently. Obviously there is no ONE magic device for all situations. That would be too simple, wouldn't it! LOL

Welcome to the ECF, first of all.

Ok, been there, done that. I didn't get a t-shirt either! :( It's hard to track down various threads to find out what you need to know and oftentimes that information is very spread out and hard to get in one place. That's why I wrote my blog, The Vaper's Handbook. It is the culmination of 7 months of extensive and painstaking research. I update it practically daily, so you might want to subscribe to the blog. Check it out and know what you need to know with a quickness: :)

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/shoganinja/2998-vapers-handbook.html

If you want a mini tank clearomizer there's a video of the mini clearomizer showdown towards the bottom of my blog. The E1-V wins (discountvapors.com). If you want a bigger tank then that's the ugly duckling, Vivi Nova, for sure. The range of resistance you'll want is 1.8ohms - 3.0 ohms, but considering the thing can handle some serious amperage there really isn't a bad resistance you can put on that thing. It'll come down to a matter of taste/heat. It's best if you learn how to rewick your own atomizer coils so you won't have to buy replacement heads. Details and video on how to do that are also found in the Vaper's Handbook.

Too funny. It was a lot easier learning how to smoke than how to vape!!

I've been smoking for 25 years then went to dipping 15 years.. Price of cigs just got out of sight! My Daughter just bought me a KGO 1100mAh.Pronounced K-GO. I've only used it for 2 days and haven't smoked or dipped in 2 days. It's much harder not dipping because the nicotine rushes into your body faster than cigs. It's only been 2 days but when I get the erge to dip I just take a hit on the e-cigerette the craving goes away. The liquid I use in the cartamizer is Halo Torque56, 24 mg Nicotine.50/50 mixture taste kinda like cigs. Several people are buying flavors just to vape the taste. I'm wanting to quit so I don't want a sweet taste and vape for the taste. Start with 24 mg nicotine then cut back the nicotime gradually.
Good Luck Vaping
I'm going to order some liquid and try making my own. Just something to do. I figure it will cost around $20.00 a Month to Vape buying from a store. That's cheap! You should save a couple hundred a month, and not hurting your lungs anymore.
My Daughter's been vaping for a couple years so she already knew what was better. She done the trial and error so I didn't have to waste any money on the junk that's being sold.

Welcome, Brenda!

I tried The Blu system, then a Bolt mod with cartomizers, tankomizers, plain atomizers, Phoenix rebuildable atomizer, and been unsatisfied with all of these. (Messes, hassles, bad flavors, costs...)

My satisfying setup now is a Vivi Nova on top of a provari with DIY liquid. The vaping's pretty good, input costs are extremely low, very little fiddling and refilling. I recommend that you try the Vivi Nova early on and experiment with other top parts secondarily. The replaceable parts can last a very long time. Just keep the wicks wet and don't push too much power through it or the flavor will turn funky.

Hope that helps. We'd like to hear about your progress. Perhaps you can stay on this thread and update us? Good luck!

ShoqaNinja- Ain't that the truth!!!

Indeed. You mentioned the Vivi Nova Clearomizer Tank earlier. That's a good full sized tank. If you had something smaller I could recommend a mini clearomizer tank (the E1-V is better than the Vivi Nova Mini on so many levels in case anyone's interested). Anyway a full size tank goes better with a full sized PV so Vivi Nova full size it is. Make sure you pay particular attention to the videos I have posted in my blog about rewicking the Vivi Nova because if you want to save money, that's where it's at. Also, not to burst anyone's bubble, but there has been a bit of an underground study that has shown shocking evidence that the wicks they use in commercial atomizers are not good for you. It's in my blog too under the wicking section. Anyway, if you decide to learn how, using a cotton or bamboo yarn wick is WAY better on the flavor and wicking aspect. It's safer and cheaper than buying more replaceable heads and filling up the local landfill with junk, instead of filling your pocketbook with cash that you saved by being smart and self-reliant.
